Bangalore to Nathdwara, Rajasthan (Bangalore --> Mumbai --> Udaipur --> Nathdwara)

Hi,
My friend and I are planning this Marathon trip in a Palio. Bangalore to Rajasthan and back will be roughly 4000km +. We are planning to leave on 25th December and be back in about 7 days. Please advice me on the road condition, route to take and places to visit near Udaipur or on the way. Any additional info is welcome.
Thanks in advance,
Manoj

Nathdwara is actually one of four Temples in mewar.Rest three are CharBhuja, Ek Lingji, Dwarkadhishji. All of them are on NH8 near Nathdwara. Not to be missed are mount Abu, Dilwara Temples and Ranakpur temples. You can watch the Heritage Car museum in Udaipur and have a nice Thali at the same place (Garden Restaurant).100 Km away from Udaipur is Chittorgarh, which has a Nice fort.

There are quiet a few travelogues on Rajasthan. Do a search. You can look at mine that is still has some things to be completed but upto Udaipur it is complete..

http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...lore-back.html

You have to go this way.. Bangalore - Hubli - Belgaum - Pune - Bombay - Manor - Vadodra - Ahmedabad - Udaipur. You can plan on reaching Udaipur in two days from Bangalore if you can drive for 14 hours. Leave Bangalore early morning to reach the other side of Bombay the same day. Stay over night, start again early and you can reach Udaipur by evening.

Haldighatti is a tacky place. You cant make anything out of it there, except some models of battlefield kept there.

Enjoy the trip. Heard it is quiet cold in Rajasthan now.
