Apart from YMCA, you should lookout some options in Paharganj, which is nearer to Stadium then that of YMCA !!

Karol Bagh can also be a good option. It is on the metro line and you can catch a metro for Mandi House / Pragati Maidan and walk around 1.5 kms for the stadium.

I would suggest you to try to shortlist an accomodation which is closer to some metro station (Prefer Blue Line of Metro - Anand Vihar to Dwarka line). It will save you money for commuting to the stadium. For shopping, you will have Connaught Place and Karol Bagh on this metro line.

If you are considering Paharganj area you can take Balaji International - a decent hotel. Have stayed there a couple of times with family.

paharganj as mentioned by fellow bhpians is a nice choice, good cheap food, hotels depending on your budget, right from 250 bucks to 4k. try ginger hotel if you want to book before you come here.
