Bangalore to Coimbatore via Kanakapura - Malavalli route

Hi BHPians,

Can some one comment on the recent road condition to Coimbatore from Bangalore via Kanakapura - Malavalli route. I went upto Shivanasamudram during Dec-09 and the stretch is pretty good. But would like to know the conditions further down the route till Coimbatore.

bad roads around chamarajnagar town and in KA side near the TN border

I palnned to do the trip by April mid week and will stick to the Thoppur-Mecheri-Bhavani route.
