yes up to some extent..

"As of now", I am planning 2 nights at Wayanad, 3 at Ooty and 2 at Valparai.. Considering the trip is with family. Personally I would have loved to spend 3 nights at Wayanad.

gvk,

It doesnt matter where & how many days you spend. The idea of a vacation in my sense is to have forwarded my official cell phone calls,no bugging buyers, service calls, not having to solve office issues and so on.

Try and have a good quality time with your family. enjoy mate & keep us all posted.

i am also looking forward for a nice 10 days break with my family after a solid 11 years starting from sunday.

This is a good plan.
Drive first to Valparai then to Ooty and finally to Waynad.

Sounds a good plan. And the falls are featured in some good travelogues here. Have a look!

Thats OK. But note that going to Athirapally will cost another day. As you would like to see it during the day. Also some how I would be uneasy to drive at night between Thrichur and Palaghat. Many diversions on NH47 and no sign-boards.

I am not planning to drive during the night. We'll be staying at Valparai for almost 3 days. Whatever is possible, we will try to cover.

This is the standard route.

You touch NH47 at Avinashi and NH7 at Salem. Nothing better than this.

All the best. Have a safe vacation.

There are two Adyar Anand Bhavans between Bangalore and Salem. One near Krishnagiri and one near Thoppur.

I too will be travelling to Kalpetta on the 8th morning - but will take the Gundlupet - S.Bathery route. To cover Thirunelli the route you're taking would certainly be better - also much better chances of spotting some wildlife in the Nagarahole sanctuary as opposed to the Gundlupet Bathery stretch.

But do watch out for some stretches of bad road around Kutta (Not sure if they have done up this road now - but about 15-20 kms were pretty bad the last time I went that way, a few months ago)

Also - you need not really touch Mysore to go to Hunsur. Take a right after you pass Srirangapatna, and you can connect to the Hunsur road, or else go a few kms further and take a right on Mysore Ring road to hit Hunsur road. I think the latter road may be in be better shape now - Saw some mention of roads not being too good on the first route in some other thread.

Where do you plan to stay in Wynad ? Kalpetta ?

Have a safe trip and enjoy your holiday..
