Chennai-Trichy-Coimbatore, help needed

Hi,

I am travelling to Coimbatore in about 2 weeks. I was planning to go via Krishnagiri, Salem, but things have changed and I need to go via Trichy (srirangam to be more exact). Will need to spend about 1-2 hrs in Srirangam visiting the temple.

I have been following the Chennai-Trichy thread and learnt that Chennai to Trichy is a breeze now.

I need help with the possible and best routes from Trichy to Coimbatore and also places to halt for food and petrol?

I plan to leave from chennai at 4:30 am.

NH67 between Trichy and Coimbatore is in a mess thanks to road widening. To avoid that, take the SH from Trichy to Namakkal via Musiri, then come via Trichengode and Erode to Coimbatore.
