Hi pals (especially from Chandigarh),

We, 5 members (a couple included), planning a trip from Hyderabad to Chandigarh-Shimla-Manali-Chandigarh for 6 nights/7 days.

So, would like to know Innova car fare (a) for the entire tour, (b) per km?

Also, appreciate could let us know some Chandigarh good car rentals' contact numbers and best options?

You should be able to get a Innova from Chandigarh for about Rs.7.50/Rs.8.00 for this trip. There would be a minimum of 200kms/day charge whether you use it or dont.

Are you planning to take the cab from Hyderabad onwards? I dont think so because 7 days wont be enough if you do that.

I assume you are flying to chandigarh and from there going by a cab.

Another option is to fly into Delhi and proceed from onwards, if you save some dough on airfare.

Btw, didnt you mean Mandi and not Chandi??

Reccomended option is to settle for a one time lumpsum payment for the entire trip,it saves you the headache of paying up for parking/taxes/nigh halt rates/toll etc etc as well as saves you the hassles of keeping track of kilometers etc.I have pmed you a number,we used this person for our trip in the same circuit ( http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/travel...delhi-hyd.html).Have a good one!

We have a small change in plans and are looking for cab from Delhi. The prices we are looking at just now is Rs. 18 per km which i feel is very high. I am still checking out the options.

Thanks for the PM guys. It is pretty clear that 18 per km is high. We had rented a Innova out of Hyderabad last week and we were charged 10.50 per km.

so, will check with the contact no provided now.

BTW, the plan is to land up in Delhi late night on Friday. Below is the itenary :
1. Saturday-Tuesday - Shimla (Honeymoon Inn)
2. Tuesday morning leave to Manali
3. Tuesday-Friday - Manali (Honeymoon Inn)
4. Friday morning to Dharmsala
5. Friday - Sunday - Dharmsala (not sure of the hotel yet. Any suggestions??)
6. Sunday morning to Delhi

Do you think this is a good plan? Any suggestions about the hotel?

Delhi-Shimla should not take you more than 7-8 hours with breaks.
mahindra's has a good place in kangra valley/theres a taragarh palace at palampur converted to a heritage hotel now.staying in dharamsala/upper mcledoganj can be quite chaotic and moreover there isnt much to do there either in terms of enjoying the climate or in terms of places to see.you could instead drive through dharamsala and use the 2 nights to stay at dalhousie.
