Planning to go to Dandeli next month (not sure if thats the right time, but I am still going!). I have blacklisted Bison. Will mostly stay at Kaadumane if available or maybe Vimal if Kaadumane is not available.
Question to the experts -
1. What kind of climate can be expected in/around Dandeli in the first/second week of June.
2. Would river rafting be functional?
3. If I miss this opportunity to go to Dandeli in the first 15 days of June, which would be the next best window?

Even after 4 years, this choice holds true. We stayed at associated Hakkimane homestay and enjoyed staying in midst of nature to witness flying lizards, giant squirrels, Hornbills among other regular birds.

This is better, Kittur to Dandeli is 75 odd kms. Some repair work is going on but that much is manageable. Leave the highway at Kittur.

How is Dandeli in March? Too dry ? Is there scope for river rafting in this season? I intend to contact a few home stays tomorrow to find out but I am curious to find out in advance if any of the better stays allow pets?

The turn off from Kittur towards Alnavar is a bit tricky and the road from Kittur towards Dharward is excellent, so if you are at a decent speed, chances are you might miss it.

Also the Alnavar road has been traditionally bad, used to do the Hubli Phonda via that route in good old days.

Tourism department only does conduct river rafting in kali River. Dam gates shall be opened around 10 in the morning which is ideal time for rafting. Some days, dam authorities close the gates much earlier. There seems to be no coordination between dam authorities and tourism department. We had to return back, fortunately our rafting amount was completely reimbursed. Do check with locals before planning.

Also does anyone know if these tourist places at Chikmagalur Shimoga and Dandeli have problems with unmarried couples for hotel or home stay bookings or is it a phenomenon only in non-touristy places? Generally in Goa I’ve never had a problem but not sure about KA.

Looking for recommendations on good resorts in dandeli, found some threads but those were really old hence reposting.

Please suggest from your personal experience.
