Jog In july end - Safe??

Hi, have planned a run down to Jog from Mumbai in July end...given the current circumstances do you guys think that it would be safe to drive through Belgaum and Hubli in a MH registered car?

Nothing has happened till now. So guess it should be safe by month end. As HVK pointed out, cross Belgaum in the night. Would be quieter. Hubli is not an issue at all.
Karnataka people are mostly peace loving. A few words in Kannada helps a lot.
This sunday Anainar is driving to Bangalore. Not sure whether his vehicle is Non KA registered. But he might give first information on how it was.

I think it is safe unless more news comes in. I suggest If you have 1 day extra time come via Mumbai - nh17 - Goa - kumta- Honnavara - left turn to nh206 - Sharavati valley view - JOG. While returning take Jog-Sagara-Harihara-nh4- to Mumbai via Belgaum or take Jog - Sirsi -yellapura-Haliyal-Khanapura-Belgaum-Mumbai (you will love the forest.) You can stay in Sirsi or Belgaum If needed. What all other palces you visit because JOG need rain for real beauty and it is not expected in July. There is less rain fall this time. May be by September end one can expect best time in JOG.

In Kumta Hotel Panduranga is always good one to stay. In Sirsi better option is Panchavati.

Regards,

Ravi.
