bit OT, mining truck accident near kottar chouki flyover construction, smart guy gets into the construction area where they doing the digging process, last week same area another mining truck got into the drain which is along the road.

the reason good four lane roads from pumpwell also shows how good these drivers are about thier alertness! all who are driving down please be careful!

Kadri,

Thanks for that info. Gives a good perspective of the situation also an the overall route status.
Whats surprising is that there exists so many permutations and combinations in this region !

Thanks Again.

Tumkur Road project

Guys,

On a related note - I read in the TOI today that Tumkur Road project (comprising of 4.5 kms of elevated expressway, some underpasses and a flyover at Nelamangala Jn) is all set to get completed by end of June 2010, that is two months from now! This will facilitate smooth commute from Yeshwantpur to Nelamangala, which has been a painful stretch for quite some time now!!

The trucks just pile outside Mangalore port. They come through many routes:

Agumbe ghat - Only for Mini buses and Passenger vehicles. No Minie trucks at all.
@ Kadri 007, Very useful info given there. It means like you can't avoid those trucks, no matter which route you take to reach Mangalore/ Udupi area! Must be a real pain!

Wow! Does that mean 4L'ing has already started of the famous NH48?
It would be a nice combination of 4L NH48 and the newly announced NH234.

Last time I drove agumbe - udupi, I saw medium size trucks coming up. Anyway those didn't prove any issue at all. Agumbe ghat roads are wide now.

By medium size trucks, you must mean those swaraj mazda 4x4 trucks. The curves are the problem in Agumbe for the heavily loaded trucks. They can easily topple over in some curves. No, I have never seen mine trucks in Agumbe ghats.

Unladen trucks. They were not carrying anything on the way up. Not as big as the mining trucks. My father was damn surprised to see trucks coming in that route. The biggest vehicles we ever saw that route in last 15 years were the mini buses.

OT reply: is t because the rake angle of the Scorpio windscreen is nearly perpendicular compared to other hatchbacks and sedans?
