Hi Friends,
I am planning to drive down to Cannaore (Kannur) from Bangalore via Mysore. My knowledge of the route is approximately from the route map I figured was OK from Google Maps.
However I am looking forward to inputs from you about this route / distance and condition of the roads. Also any good place I can stay ? Was looking for a beach resort. The search showed Sea-Shell. Any clue how that is.

Any pointers / tips / advice will be helpful especially from BHPians who have recently travelled this route.

You can take

1. Mysore - Hunsur - Gonikkuppa - Makkutta - Irritty - Mattanur - Kannur

or
2. HD Kote - Bavali - Manathawadi - Nedumpoyil - Peravur - Mattannur - Kannur (Nedumpoyol - Koothuparamba road is in bad shape)

At this moment, option 2 will be good, but road is closed after HD Kote by 6pm and opens at 6am.
