Fair enough - if this is the only bad stretch on BLR-NGP.

Thanks Ranjit. Where is this hotel located? Also, what is the best way to cross Hyderabad? Bypass(?) it or drive through?

There is no real bypass for Hyderabad, because the bypasses have all become part of the city now!

The best way is as follows:

Coming from BLR on NH7,take the left onto the Nehru Ring Road which points to Gachibowli. There is a ramp going to your left after you cross Shadnagar and just before the airport. You wouldnt miss it.

Take the ring road and no more turns till you exit the ring road at G'bowli. At G'bowli you would see a flyover under construction, perpendicular to the ring road exit.Take a left go a few 100 meters and take a U Turn to come to the other side of the road.Once you are on the other side of the road, take the free left,at the flyover, and you are now on the Miyapur road.

Continue on the road till the dead end and you are now at Miyapur Cross Roads.Take a right and you are now on NH9.Left takes you to Pune, right to Hyd.Travel right and you would cross Kukatpally,Balanagar till you reach Bowenpally Crossroads. The road ends at this crossroad with a right which would take you into Hyderabad and the left is NH7 to Nagpur.Take the right and you are now on NH7.

As for this hotel, this is at Kukatpally, quite easy to get out the next day and the best part is they offer an exclusive 20pcnt discount for tbhpians

Thanks for the detailed directions Ranjit. Please see if route-1 below is as per your directions. Also, do you see any issues with taking route-2?

Yes route 1 is more or less the route I mentioned, route 2 would also connect you to NH7,but it is not a straight forward route and runs through many turns and twists,IMO,route 1 is easier and straight forward, plus stay options are plenty on route 1 as opposed to route2 where are no options.

The link to the route I mentioned is this :

Pebbair, Andhra Pradesh to Medchal Rd/NH 7 - Google Maps

neo45007, I concur with what MileCruncher and ranjitp1 say about estimated timings. MY timings this trip were slow because we were driving a 4x4 Landy and Gypsy, both crawl on the highway. My best time is also 6.5 hrs between Nagpur-Hyd and Hyd-Blr. The bad roads are more a irritation and I guess you may make a little faster speeds if you do it by day (we went through at night)

Thanks

Dear HVK,

I was only curious to know the possible duration of non-stop BNG - NGP journey. I am sure, I can't make it in 6.5 hrs (BNG-HYD or HYD-NGP).

But, I will plan to complete this trip in 16-17 hrs.

The only concern is - I might be travelling alone and I hope its safe for a day journey on this route.

I would recco that you do this trip with a overnighter at Hyd.Start in the afternoon from Blore to reach Hyd by late evening.Overnight in Hyd and leave to NGP next day morning.

Doing BLR-NGP single day could be a stretch as getting out of Hyd is going to take time and traffic can be quite unpredictable during the day hours.

@ Ranjit : Point noted.
I have considered this option in the past.

This time I am thinking of doing it non-stop.
Still in case the body & mind can't bear the stress & traffic; I will have to halt at Hyderabad for sure.

Travel duration - I guess you can easily do the trip as follows:
Bangalore-Hyderabad - 7-8 hours
Crossing Hyderabad - 1 hr
Hyderabad-Nagpur - 7-8 hours

No safety issues. Lots of truck traffic 24x7

Re: Route Query BLR-HYD-NGP

Reviving this thread - anyone done HYD - NGP of late? Any improvements on the AP/MH border areas?

Re: Route Query BLR-HYD-NGP

We came that way last month-end and the roads were bad for 20 kms or so each around Pandharkawada and Hinganghat in MH. I don;t think there is any chance of improvement the way things were at that time.
