Bangalore/Bannerghatta National Park

So, I plan on a trip to Bannerghatta for some time at the Jungle lodge. I'll have about a week in BLR - any suggestions for some good day trips in the area most welcome.

2) Srirangapatna-Sangama-Nimishamba temple-Gosai Ghat-Dariya Daulat-Tipu's Summer place-Ranganthittu-KRS (About 300 Kms from BLR)
3) Talakadu-Shivannasamudra.( About 250 Kms from BLR Round trip)

Otomobil - the Shivannasamudra is where the rivers meet right? Or is that Sangama?

A bit more detail about the suggested trips would be really appreciated - I'm still trying to get my head around the geography!

Otomobil - thanks for the suggestions! Could you give me a bit more of an idea re what the trips involve? I'm still trying to get my head around the geography - sorry! Sangama is where the rivers meet right? If it is, then, I've done that trip before. I'm also planning a road trip through Kerala (as you'll see in one of the other threads), so trying to get a bit of diversity into the trip.

Wheretonext: Welcome on board ! I just happen to read your intro thread.
Here are more details:
Sangama : Yes, It does mean that where rivers meet, It's near mysore.
My guess would be, if you have seen sangama, then you must have seen in and around mysore.

Talakadu: a wiki link:Talakad - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Shivannasamudra: a wiki link: Shivanasamudra Falls - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

If you are driving down to kerala via mysore, I am sure you can cover these as well.

let me know if you need more info and i would be glad to help.

Hi there - thanks for the links. Both places look fantastic - Talakad looks quite interesting - the ruins seem quite a . I won't be driving from BLR to Kerala. The plan is to start in Trivandrum, and drive up to Cochin (via Thekkady and Alleppey) and jump on the train to BLR. I've been to Mysore before, yup.
