Having travelled on this route 3 days ago, I'm putting up this update on the Hyd-Raichur-Hospet road.
From the turnoff to Mahbubnagar, the narrow tree-lined road is fairly good with a very few bad patches. It is very crowded through Mahbubnagar town. Road upto Raichur is acceptable.
From Gangavati to Kamalapur, about 30 Kms stretch is just potholes and craters held together by bits of road! It took us two hrs to traverse this bit, esp since were in a low-slung i20.
After kamalapur to Hospet, road is acceptable.

Where exactly did you turn off NH7 - not Beechupalli?

The turning must have been from Jadcherla.

The alternate route to beat Mahbubnagar traffic is to go straight on NH7 and turn for Mahabubnagar at Boothpur. But the 10 kms from Bhoothpur to Mahbubnagar is drivable but bad roads.

So the trade off call can be made based on the time you are passing through Mahabubnagar. Note that the Boothpur way is around 10 kms longer.

Yes,we turned off at Jadcherla.

Any updates on the road condition till raichur?
Gmaps is asking me to take NH7 till pebbair then right towards raichur, even though it's a longer route.

The best route few months would be to leave NH7 at Bhutpur and travel towards Mahbubnagar and then proceed towards Raichur.
But there is a flyover being constructed over railway line at Devarkadra and multiple bridges over rivulets like one at Makthal. If you are travelling early mornings, this route should be fine. Otherwise you may get stuck at Devarkadra and Makthal. I am unsure about the road condition between Gadwal and Raichur. Took this route many years ago and found it not good. I would leave early and stick to route via Mahbubnagar.
