@Khoj. Aren't you driving down along with him back to Mumbai? It would be good to rally down.

Veerji,

Once he reached Dilli, we stopped tracking Tomorrow as he drives out towards Bombay you will get updates again.

EDIT I am still in Dilli. As for the blankets all year round I sleep with one 'Jaipuri Rajai'. In summers however the rajai stays folded under my feet. In 'kadake ki thand' which is say from December end to January third week the 'Jaipuri' is covered by a cotton cover to give it additional layers.

Yes MX6, I was and it would have been fun. However I have to be here tomorrow due to some family commitments, am trying to leave on Wednesday but will leave on Thursday for sure.

Re: Bombay-Uttarakhand-Delhi-Bombay in the Red Baron

The Red Baron has left the Capital.

From Issigonis's sms of this morning, I assume he started from New Delhi shortly after 0630hrs.

Now at 1000 hours he is closing in on Shahjahanpur.

From the weather outside my window at this hour, the morning must have been quite foggy.

Apparently, he took 2 hours to cover the first 40 kms from Manesar, heavy fog, got stuck near Rewari thanks to huge traffic jams, probably because there were 3 fog-related accidents, but now he has crossed into RJ and is at Behror.

2 hours for 40 kilometers. I will be starting from Dilli no earlier than 1000 hours in the morning. Might spend those morning hours at home rather than being stuck in a jam.

Even now at 1100 hours the skies here are grey.

I believe he is concerned about tomorrow's longer run from Udaipur to Bombay. He wants to get to Udaipur in time for a proper night's rest to be fresh for the next day.
How much time do you guys think it should take for him to get to Udaipur from the bypass.

1900 hours. The Red Baron is in Udaipur. When did Issigonis get there? Timings anyone? The last time when I checked he was approaching Dudu at 1430 hrs.

Re: Bombay-Uttarakhand-Delhi-Bombay in the Red Baron

Hi ,

Issigonis reached the A1 Plaza (on NE1, Baroda end) at 1.30 pm for lunch and proceeded toward Mumbai at 2.30 pm.

I met with him for about 10 mins at 2.45 pm near the NE1/NH8 junction for a quick chat and off he sped towards Mumbai at 2.55 pm. He is aiming for 9 pm arrival at Mumbai but I think 10 pm will be realistic, given the heavy truck traffic between Bharuch & Surat.

Cheerio, Sam

1930 hrs and Latitude shows Red Baron at Bhilad, which is 260 kms from Baroda. That puts his average speed at 50 KmpH considering he left Baroda at 1500 hrs.

hvkumar is that par for the course or slower than usual?

Well, in 1 hour since then, he has moved hardly 75 kms, he is now crossing Manor at 845 pm.

This is turning out to be one more frustrating drive, he will not reach Bombay before 10 pm, that will make it a long 7-8 hour drive from Baroda.
