Which is the best road from Rameswaram to Tirunelveli?

Hi

I need info on the best route for Rameswaram to Tirunelveli. I don't mind doing some 25 to 30 km more if such a drive is a breeze. I have see a report on this forum that the East Coast Road (ECR) is a good one. Is the ECR also the best if going off to Tirunelveli rather than to Kanyakumari?.

How about Rameswaram- Madurai- Tirunelveli? How long will that drive take?

Any quick advice?

Thats too much of a deviation. The standard route should be Rameshwaram-Tuticorin-Tirunelveli.
