Hi,

Planning to go to Mullayanagiri Betta near Chikkamagalur.

Requesting for information on road Condition to Mullayanagiri (top) from Chikkamagalur. My ride would be in a Swift from Bangalore (my mom and son can't make it for trekking).

Additional info on Accommodation in around Chikkamagalur would be appreciated.

Manju...The road from Chikmagalur to Mulyangiri was in very good shape when I went there the last time about 3 months back. The asphalt was recently laid and road was very good all the way till the top of the hill where you have a small parking place. Earlier a part of the road on the top of the hill was uneven mud road.

Planters Court at Chikmagalur town is a good place to stay with secured parking. Located near the KSRTC bustand on IG road. Standard Double Room around Rs.1100+ taxes (Breakfast included) and a nice restaurant too. Make sure to book the room in advance.

You could try Nature Nirvana, a plantation homestay situated b/w Chikmagalur and Kemmannugundi. I haven't been there, but have heard good reviews from friends.

I totally agree with dreamdiesel here.

I had been to Mullaingiri, Bababudangiri, Kemmangundi last saturday.
The route is awesome all the way till Mullaingiri. But just beware of some landslides.
If you are planning to visit Kemmangundi then Horrible route between Attigundi - Kemmangundi, better to take CKM-Kaimara-Lingadhally-Kallathipura-Kemmangundi (some stretch between Kallathipura, Lingadhalli is not in good shape)
If you are planning to go this weekend, most of hotels n homestays have already been booked. This I heard from one of the T-bhp memeber who was trying to find an accomodation in CKM for this weekend n coming weekend.

Now they have made parking facility just below the steps of Mullaingiri peak, so parking should not be an issue.
Just be careful about the roads, The road is very narrow and single lane, so giving way for oncoming vehicle is very difficult.

@Sushrutha, Thanks, It helps lot of us who are planning to visit in last week of December.
@Prasad14, for suggestion, but they are fully booked as Sushrutha has mentioned. If can't manage accommodation, then I need to drive out to Dharmasthala/Sringeri for night halt.
