Honda City will be a better choice.

With only 2000km per month, A Petrol will be a better option and nothing to beat a Honda. Great rear seat comfort and very stable car. I have a Vtec which has done about 3k and I have no complaints as yet. Gives me 11 kms in city with AC. Have not checked it on the highways though.
Honda's are easier to maintain and will fetch you a good resale as well.
Optra is a great looker but I have a mindblock about Korean machine's (I may be wrong and apologies to the Optra owners).
Go fo the VTEC only if you or your Dad is going to drive, else pick up the GXI.
