For your budget you could get a decent used OHC. Its got great power and good FE at the same time. Reliability is not an issue with Japanese cars

Hope this helps

If you can find a good Indigo LS or LX within your budget, look no further!

I second that.

In petrols, u should mainly consider esteems since that engine is a gem.

Lancers and OHCs will be more expensive to maintain compared to Marutis and Tatas

An esteem or even a good Baleno would be the best, I think...

An accent would be good too, but try to stick to post october 2002 accents...

I don't know about delhi prices but here down south getting a decent OHC or any other booted car post-2000 at 3.5L is impossible. Some 7 months or so back I was doing a thorough research on this. I found that an Indigo LS (you do not get anything older than late 2003 model) costs a minimum of 4lakhs. An OHC, unless it has been through an accident, is not available anywhere for less than 5.5Lakhs. Accents sell for upwards of 4 lakhs...

Only way out is if you can catch hold of a direct seller (and you are sure that the car is genuinely good) you may get a decent deal. That ways you may get an Indigo (2003 model) for 3.5lakhs or so.

OHC - not at all, you'll hardly face any problems ...
Accent - hyundai service is cheap and so are the parts
Lancer - owners claim low maintainence though spares are very costly

whoa - used car prices are real high down south.
in delhi, you get much more decent bargains - but then, cars are subject to lot more abuse here as well.
