And hence they stopped Ford Ikon 1.8D and 1.6?

And I saw a letter from Hyundai official stating taht they wont be stopping Accent's production and that they would be sueing the newpaper company.

Accent has lived its age is my feeling.

IMHO< I don't think the prices will fall any further coz its already very low.

Accent has lived its age for sure but then everyone knows that. But i feel that low price(VFM), cheap spares and great A** should be your prime priority if you are buying the Accent. For everything else the Fiesta is surely better

Today afternoon we test drove aveo 1.6. We drove it in the bumpy roads of madipakkam to see whether the car screams under load while taking bad roads. it performed good taking four of us (remember that transporter movie line - 3 men 260 kilos - rule number 1 - deal is a deal!) overall around 280kilos. We rode fast, we road in bad roads, swithced off ac and music system and observed the car sound, shocks sound, checked whether the base is hitting the road anywhere, we did what we could and it looked easy on all. Aveo might be the one i buy.....

btw - guys how do you test drive a car? what all should i test while test driving?

holy cow, 5052 Accents in just one month??? thats almost equal to Ford's Cumulative sales figure for march 2006.

I guess Accent is regaining its past position of best seller in C segment class.

Maybe but not anymore as Verna is down the line. Accent's future is now only known by Hyundai.

i think its better to consider baleno lxi. in kerala its available onroad at around 5.4 lakhs. i myself booked for one and is due by next week, with alloys, tyres, keyless entry, teflon coating, underboady coating and 4 yrs extended warranty at 5.78 lakhs. seems to be a VFM product. accents lacks FE and Back Seat space compared to baleno and the Back Seat space is also not great for fiesta, but still a good buydo consider the maintenance cost of ford, i mean the regular service costs is way higher than both baleno and accent and its a 1.4 engine compared to 1.6 and 1.5 of baleno and accent. take a test drive of all of them and decide........

if FE is important dont go for accent. even though its good 2 drive it is high on petrol. none of my friends get more then 9 in the city and 11 on the highways. i mean this is the benchmark which every1 is trying 2 achieve.

What is the price diff between the Accent GLE and the 1.6 DOHC GLS ?

Is the FE of the GLS worse than the GLE ? But if it's OTR is similar to the Fiesta 1.4, then may be worth considering .. since I believe it has more features than the GLE.

price difference = near 1 Lakh.

@naveendhyani : U r spreading rumors just like anyone who says palio gives 6-7km/l and NHC gives 18KM/l.

My accent is giving me 10.5km/l , not even 1st service done, 800km on odo.

My colleague's (tbhp-ian @vroom) Accent gives him 10kmpl in Chennai city with a/c on always. Not sure about highway mileage though.
@speedbuster, you bought an Accent recently ? I had the impression (from your posts on another thread) that you were a big NHC fan.
