Rajiv,

If it is going to be chauffeur driven, Embera would be the best bet else Civic.
You haven't indicated what parameters are important to you.

Embera is a class higher and is available at around the same price as Civic, yet I believe Civic will sell a lot more than Embera. The brand afterall amounts to something.

Can someone confirm that the Embera is now costing 11.5..........and what options do you get at that price?

Civic for performance and Embera for luxury and touring.

Exerpts of another post (from aman345) where the price in Delhi was mentioned.. The pointer to the dealer is also provided. Not sure if the same prices are applicable to bangalore or mumbai...

Primary use office and back

Personally, I would prefer the Civic because it is SMALLER than the Sonata! I have no need for that back seat and extra length. For me, the smaller the better.

However, as Rajiv has not mentioned anything as to his usage, can't really say what's best for him.
I mainly use for the office self driven office is around 20 min from home plan to take a few long drives to holiday destinations in maharashtra once a month.

The Embera is a much better buy unless you really care for paddle shifts. I hear dit now about 13L OTR Mumbai. At these prices you are getting a car that is about as big as an Accord and just a bit slower than the RS and is better appointed than both.

Embera is not cheap in bangalore

Hi,

Checked with Advaith Hyundai in Bangalore. They are not selling for anything cheaper than the OTR sticker price of 15.9L. So al my excitement has fizzled off. Its not comparable in price to Civic at all - at least in bangalore.

Sonata is a bigger car and more powerful. It has more snob value too.

While civic maybe a superb car in its segment, its tough for civic to compete with sonata.

So how come you agree with me ...??

OT - Forget the Emberra, what if it was Civic v/s Elantra ? Elantra has more goodies , more space , is a diesel , goes like stink and what would be the price about 10L ....then what ? Except snob value which we Indians give only to HONDA.

Yes you're right the only downside for Elantra vs Civic is its looks. Rest Elantra scores high including the price.

Yes, it'd be very practical to buy the Elantra over the civic, but I'd really like to see how many people actually do that. Head would agree but heart wouldn't!
