Difficult choice. Both are from different segments, though very close in price. The Embera is targetted at the Accord, while the Civic can be seen as an Elantra competitor.

I would go with the Embera. The Civic is a great car...but over-priced. With the current discounts, the Embera is under-priced. It is much more car for your money.

I agree. If you're not totally in love with Honda, the Embera is a much better deal.

As GTO said, the embera is a lot more car than the Civic if the price you are getting is the same (going by a few BHP'ians in Delhi is around 11.5L On road price for the embera).. It is atrue D segment car and spacewise a lot larger. The engine performance - the embera is more powerful, but needs to lug a lot more metal so probably evens out.. Spares (cant say for the moment) - i have a friend who was a die hard honda fan and shifted to huyndai sonata (the old one) - got great service - including replacement of parts and the attitude of honda vs hyundai he says is miles apart. He recently upgraded his old sonata to the embera and loves it. The ground clearance of the embera is higher than the getz! Both are relatively new versions (compared to whats available worldwide) - with of course the civic being the newer of the two.

At the current prices, i guess we can do the after market bling!

A powerful CRDi option to the stable at around the same price and then you will see the laura under pressure to reduce price as well!!! Boy i wish there is more competition to skoda..

I'll tell you the answer to the poll right now. 80% of the people will say Sonata. But the sales charts obviously say something else!

Personally, I would prefer the Civic because it is SMALLER than the Sonata! I have no need for that back seat and extra length. For me, the smaller the better.

However, as Rajiv has not mentioned anything as to his usage, can't really say what's best for him.

I voted for Civic.
Embera is a bigger car granted but Civic is not that small either. Civic is very much comfortable and its not as wide/long to give you headache in city traffic but at the same time has enough snob value.

This is a no brainer.
EMBERA, yes I am shouting..

My eyes just popped out when I first saw Embera on road, it has amazing road presence, much better than accord.
IMHO Embera looks better than accord.

It has the space, power, looks and dont forget, Much higher snob value than civic. Its a segment apart.

Embera options in bangalore ?

Hi,

This is really tempting. Has anybody checked the Embera price in bangalore. I was looking at Corolla and then Civic, but this is interesting. I am absolutely delighted with Hyundai service for the last 7 years, so would be keen to check out Embera. Does MT on road in Bangalore cost 13L or less ?

It's the Embera way above Civic. Only thing which is a downside for Embera is its interior looks not the material quality. Not sure about it though. May be other people can comment on the interior looks.
