The new Corolla was launched in Japan in Oct. 2006...ittl take another year or so to launch in India according to me. so theres no way it will be phased out soon.

Heres a pic of the new corolla

The car hasnt even launched in the US as yet so i guess it will take some time. However it would suck to have the next generation corolla launch a couple of months after you buy yours so you could wait if you want....btw any reason for not looking at the civic?

The new corolla is not coming here atleast till the beginning of 2008.The new corolla should mostly be more expensive than the present one and if the vios does indeed come to the Indian market think there is no point in Toyota having a cheap corolla. Also the new corolla may not necessarily be the one in the above picture, refer the thread on team-bhp international cars section.

The corolla executive does have ABS.

In all international markets, the Corolla and the Civic have a 2-year time gap between their respective new model launches, i.e if a new Civic is released now,a new Corolla comes abt 2 years later; and vice-versa.

Whats stopping you from the Civic?

on what basis do you say that....
With the on going corolla not doing that well as compared to the civic,octavia...iam sure they will come out with a new model ASAP.

The corolla executive is a better bet among the two. And yes it does have ABS indeed.
Assuming you are OK with paying more, why not go for H1 instead? You are getting a lot more for your extra 1 lakh I think..

Well the pattern isnt mine - something I've seen in countries I'd been in.

I'd bet anything that a new Corolla wont be released in India anytime soon. Back during the 2005 Geneva Motor Show, when Honda debuted the-then new re-production Civic that you see now, Toyota bosses were so stunned that their new Corolla concept already looked dated - cancelled it and went back to the drawing board.

I don't think the facelift is coming in that soon, will confirm tomorrow once I have a chat with my sources. Secondly the Civic is a better car anyday compared to the Corolla, thirdly also keep in mind that you will get much superior resale for the Civic compared to the Corolla.

So keep those factors in mind. If I were you I would have bought the Civic for the extra money since I think it's worth it.
