How about an Old Honda City (2003-04 model ) It will easily come under your budget and what you save can be put into nice mods. The car has good looks, good milage , good handling, good resale and good milage.

If you dont worry about the resale that much but want a sturdy car go for a FIAT petra (Brand New). It should be be close to your budget... This is my personal choice.

If you are looking for a diesel car you can try accent diesel. Not sure what other members react to this car, but I have heard its not a bad choice.

My personal suggestion is if you can live with Petra's interior size its a great car nothing an beat it If you it yourself. Resale value is onething which Fiat cars don't have, Search for used Petra you can buy 2 Petras for 6 lacs

Another car is Used Baleno because new baleno round the corner present Baleno's resale value might go down and already it has bad resale value so
baleno is good car as well to buy it as used one.

Regards,

Ravi.

After an IKON 1.6, only a Fiesta or a OHC Vtec can really be satisfying to drive. Obviously you dont like the fiesta, why not the verna ?

A used verna. Have people already started selling them off . If you are talking about a new one then I think it overshoots his budget by a Lac at least.

Hi,

I guess you should go for a Lancer 2001-2003 depending on the conditions, as you will be going in for a second lancer resale still should not be a concern, looks are awesome and spares are also affordable, milege pretty decent and handling is awesome.

My best bet is a Lancer.

I'm not sure if a 1.6 100+ps Fiesta or Aveo will come in that price, since most of those would have been sold to the first owner in 2006. You might need to up your budget a bit. I would go for the Aveo if you can find one. It is much better appointed inside (where you will be most of the time) than the Fiesta or the 70ps HC

hi tej, i assume you have numbered your criteria according to your priority/weightage for each.
1-safety; 2-handling; 3-equipment; 4-looks; 5-resale value and 6-mileage.

If most preference is for safety i feel you should look for a FIAT Petra or an Adventure. Which i think you can even get a new one at your budget (even a little less). The Safety features in the FIAT will not be matched by ny other vehicle. But the negetives would be the resale and the mileage (average 10-12Km/l). Moreover after a 1.6 FOrd i dont think you would appreciate anything less than a 1.6 engine. Moreover with only 900km/month i dont think it would be worth investing in a diesel engine.

Before that why are you looking for a second hand vehicle with 5.75L budget. Do you want a luxury vehicle? i mean the higher segment ones?

Yep, sorry for that, must have dozed off. I can only think of a 2003 OHC Vtec.

if you need a sedan, then look for a 2005 Optra 1.6 LS, or a 2004 Corrolla. You'l get the big car feel plus good ride.

Infact the best bet for that kind of a budget and given your priorities is a 2001-02 Old Honda Accord. Great build, it has that big car feel, good handling and ride, quite a good looker but expect a mileage of not more than 7-8 kmpl. And on top of all this, it being a honda, resale value isn't bad.

you can get plenty of those within your budget here in MUmbai.
