Fiesta 1.6 SXI vs NHC VTec

Hi All,

I am wondering about the best of these two.

Please suggest as both seems to be selling like hot cakes in the market

and which would be a long term value in it.

Regards,
Sumanta

Yup. For both RESALE and RELIABLILITY, the choice is clear. Thinking long term ? Think Honda. Period.

Hi,

Below are what I figured out:-

NHC VTec

On Road Price - 8.67 lacs
100BHP @ 5800
Great interiors
137 Nm @ 4800 RPM
Double Din Mp3 player

Fiesta 1.6 SXI
Price - 7.9 but Discount of 28k = 7.62lacs
101 BHP @ 6500 rpm
146 Nm @ 3000 -6000rpm
No Mp3 , only a old style 6 CD changer which is not optional.
Interiors are with leather

Please tell me which would be great as NHC is 1lac more and would like to know the best as both are rivals to each other.

Regards,
Sumanta B

Sumanta, please provide us your requirements - like specific concerns about space, comfort, performance or FE, maintenance & resale.

Both are great performers, with Fiesta having marginally better handling.
Go for NHC if you want space and comfort, better interiors and better FE, and a better resale value.
Go for Fiesta for a driver-centric experience, and lower price and goodies.

Take a TD of both and see. Dont forget to take along your family, in case back-seat is going to be used often.

I would prefer the Honda VTEC any day. Goldie has already been succint in his description about the Honda. Hey goldie, by the way is it not high time that you posted a long term ownership report of you bluish silver VTEC ??

for sheer driving pleasure the fiesta 1.6. Its too responsive and handles well.

But i think the back seat is better on the Honda. Not driven that one.

Fiesta 1.6. The NHC VTEC is not what the OHC VTEC used to be.

Its very simple: If you have to sit in the drivers seat = Fiesta. In the back seat = NHC (But then why a Vtec. Regular will do).

I think the base Optra 1.6 has a better back seat at the same Price of the Vtec.

What if you want to drive, but have family members occupying the back-seat as well. That was the issue I faced with both Optra (best for back-seat only) and Fiesta (best for driver's seat only).
NHC VTEC offers the best of both worlds with Honda's efficiency and reliablity thrown in - all at a stiff price though.

I have been procastrinating on it for a long while - think I need to be kicked hard enough to get down to doing it

To help ford Survive, buy the fiesta sxi. to help your pocket survive buy the Honda vtec. Vtec is just about powerful enough and just about comfortable enough with a good reliability.

Ford atleast for me is still a legend and I would not have second thoughts about the fiesta though. (Bring myself to remember the IKOn and Mondeo )

The fiesta is a driver's car & the NHC (VTec or otherwise) is just a uninhibited performer without the frills. Test drive both to take the right decision.

You seem to have narrowed down to the Fiesta 1.6 and the NHC VTEC. So lets see what you want..driving pleasure/passenger comfort/good ownership experience?

Pick the Fiesta if you want a drivers car (and have a small family). Go for the Honda if you need rapid transportation with a bit more space for a bigger family.

The Honda sales/ownership experience is a bit better than Ford's, so is the re-sale value. (almost negated by the higher pricing of the NHC)

As Goldie said, the Honda is an all-round package, whereas the Ford is for those whose hearts over rule any decision by the brain!

Hi MaserQ,

Thanks for your reply. I am a single guy with loads of passion for speed & thrill. For me a Swift is good buy but the looks are awful. After so many research & TD, I felt fiesta & NHC Vtec are rivals to each other.

Still hard to decide on selecting one out of these two. Ford giving good offer thus buying price is less whereas NHC has 0% discount without ABS/EBD + Airbags. But, again Honda has alloy wheels whereas Fiesta has no more in it.

Some info on news channels weeks back that Honda coming up with ABS option in NHC Vtec @ same price but don't know how far it would be true.

Please suggest.
