Hey folks..

Am in a little tricky situation... i have a OHC 1.3 which i bought a year back(used one,99 model)... the main purpose of me going for this car was for the hiway use more then the city use(hate driving in city traffic)....but offlate am worried by the thought that i might have to face maintainence probleams(suspensions, clutch etc) since the machine is getting old...

V+ side is:
- Machine drives well...smooth and silent engine
- Great FE about 15+ on hiway...with AC

V- side is:
- Lilttle sluggish with AC on...

So all the gurus what do you suggest me... ??

99 1.3DX would fetch you a maximum of 2.00-2.25 Lakhs. Find out how much the clutch & suspension job would cost. I did my clutch & suspension (Esteem) for 22k. If it is around that, it is advisable to get that done & use your car for another 80k Kms or more before you sell it.

How many kms on the ODO ??

Are you planning to sell your car just because you are apprehensive that it would need a major maintenance job sometime in the future? Or, you KNOW that the car WILL need it?

If EL's estimate on the resale value is correct, then you would need to spend a lot of money to replace this car.

Getting rid of it after stretching the usage for another couple months seems OK.

The car has done 74k kms on odo.. car is running very fine... but am lilttle aprehensive or just being very practical.....spoke to the servise superwiser(whitefiled honda) and he said nothing to worry at all as the car is in good shape...looking at the resale it looks that keeping it for couple of years makes sense... but dont want to take chance too :) guess am getting worried for nothing... heheh

if i decide iti guess will hold it for next 2 years.... as i know the resale will go really down in a year or two...so got to decide now...

Don't worry - 74k is not much for a OHC !! I know people who have done more than 200 K's !!

Resale value will not go down tremendously. You might get an extra 50k depreciation over the next 2 yrs but that's with all cars then.
