corolla or lancer 1.8

Hey guys

Which one do u think is a better option.

Toyota corolla or Lancer 1.8 invex

Also what are the best choices for a SUV in India.

Overall I feel Corolla is the best. Power/Performance wise , both are almost equal. But the Lancer looks outdated.

Among the SUVs, i feel the Endeavor is the best.

Even though the Lancer is one of my favorite Indian cars, I will have to recommend the Corolla to you. Three reasons:

1. The Build quality of the Lancer has deteriorated to such an extent that there are uneven panel gaps, and interior plastics chipping off.
2. The 1.8 is not a manual.
3. The corolla is bigger, faster and has the "T" badge on its front grill.

Corolla .........anyday.

I'd opt for the Lancer if it were to come with a manual box, ABS and 125+bhp.

The Lancer is a much better handler but, lacks performance and driving pleasure (the auto box being the culprit here).

Infact there isn't much between these 2 cars. If you were to race them on a track, the Corolla would surely leave the Lancer behind on the straights but, the Lancer would make up that lost time while cornering.

The Lancer also has the benfit of being a better car under hard braking due to it's low stance and good weight ditribution.

If you've seen the Top Gear episode of Zonda vs Murcielago, you'll know what i'm talking about.

Performance wise lancer 1.8 is the best deal in the market . Derive one to believe it . Corolla doesn't even come close . Lancer 1.8 is the fastest at the moment . If you are the type who loves to race b/w red lights ,,,,lancer 1.8 is the car . Don't ever buy corolla , if you want more power go for the Octavia RS ;;it will blow you .
Corolla is not for the boy racers .

The fastest is Octavia RS , then is the Lancer invex 1.8 and then comes the corolla . Corolla looks are a big let down .

the choice is between the lancer 1.8 and the corolla, where did the RS come in from?

From the choices given, i feel the corrolla will be better because the state of current lancers is really pathetic, n like mentioned before lancer has an autobox. The corolla is anyday faster than the lancer 1.8 if you consider straightline speed.

dude u need to drive the corolla to understand the true power of the 1.8 VVTI heart....when u see the corolla drive by it doesnt look fast at all....but the true test of this pudding is in the eating....this car is quick and the gears are nice and tall (allowing you to get the max out of your engine)....

the RS is quick....very quick

...and being european has a totally different appeal...the lower power-weight ratio on the corolla ensures the car feels about as fast....the 1.8 INVEX doesnt compete due to it being an auto...

Corolla is a better choice than the Lancer 1.8 in every way and in the case of SUVs I would suggest you to wait for the Toyota Fortuner.

You got to be kidding me! A slush box Lancer 1.8 with an on-road price of close to a million is the best deal? And a Corolla is slower?

I suggest comparing times...or better yet, go test drive both yourself

The Corolla is one of the worst looking saloon cars in our market. The Lancer looks dated, but, still a lot better than the Corolla.
For everything else - performance, interiors, ride, comfort, space and quality, I'll recommend the Corolla.

lancer invex faster than corolla......!!!!!!
