Re: Need a sedan! Sold my Dzire with no backup plan Dear Horizon85 and KPR,
Thank you for your valueable feedback. I know both Ciaz and S-Cross are pretty well equipped cars. After owning 2 MS cars, I have found the need to look outside that family. The quality of MS cars has defintely improved. As informed in the first post, my friends Ignis is far better in todays terms.
However both these cars do not excite me enough to go for them. Besides the Rapid's 1.0 has changed my tastes. So after much deliberations, I have given up hopes of finding a pretty good sedan in my price bracket.
Vento - I am getting a lot of good offers for Vento automatic but in limited colour choices. These are stock clearences and I am not really a big fan of the VW cars. Its hard to distinguish between the cars for a layman. Also expensive of the same setup compared to Rapid. Its also a decade old car, so is the Rapid.
Upon deliberations with my Friday night gang and looking at current options, I have put all my requirements out of the window and chosen the Kushaq. I have actually booked it too on VijayDashami.
- 3 cylinders over 4: when the options are so low and not in my price bracket, the VAG 1.0 TSI is a fabulous engine. With Skoda's clever and driver focused package, I will be happy for some time to come.
- No keyless entry: The ambition variant comes with a lot of gizmos but not keyless entry. This was not a deal breaker and the other things in the variant make up for it.
- Touch aircon vents: Although I am not a fan of the ones in 4th Gen city, the Skoda Kushaq's unit is quite responsive. I would have liked the analog buttons but I guess I can live with it just fine.
- Crossover instead of Sedan: This was the most difficult decision to make. I know the Slavia is around the corner but Crossovers makes a lot of sense too. It may not be corner carver but offers a plush ride and confident seating position. The space is so much more. The Kushaq offers the same amount of space as the City IMO in the rear seats. The fit and finish is far superior to the City. The Kushaq somehow manages to deliver better power in the lower band compared to our Rapid. The second gear test on the bumps were much more easier compared to Rapid. The engines comes with 5 horses more and the Kushaq is anything but lethargic. I really liked the overall package and now waiting for my Tonado Red Kushaq.
Thank you all for your opinions and feedback.
