Ranjith, You might want to test-drive the new launched Optra diesel and see if it appeals to you. The Optra was always a nice car, and the new diesel powerplant has impressive specs on paper.

WOW. thanks. but few more questions

thanks a lott for the pronto responses
I read lots n lots of the posts on this brilliant site.
But posts swing both ways. For common man who is not expecting to corner at 70 it is confusing

thanks for the suggestion but, Wife will throw me out if i buy a SUV

cpl of corrections.
My total is 50Km per day. so its 25 to and 25 from office.

I LOVE the Cedia sports. But you guys say the service sucks. what abt maintainnce and average?

thats very dangerous especially with these expensive cars.
i guess thats exactly the reason why ford gets a beating even today eventhough they might have changed, theold mindset is hard to change.

Now, to top all the frustation of making the choice, the Magnum got launched today

1. how is the *** of Cedia?
2. Whats the verdict on the Magnum compared to these 3 (approx will do)
3. resale of Cedia, Verna VGT SX and Maruti SX4 after 4 years
4. maintainance of Cedia, Verna VGT SX and Maruti SX4
5. performance of Cedia, Verna VGT SX and Maruti SX4

I know i am comparing cars from different segments and flavours.
i just want a good mix of power, style, ***, maintainance and FE
In that order more or less

for me diesel or petrol is no issue.
it does make a difference but will not be the deciding factor
if diesel gives same perfromance then its all the better

thanks again much and in advance

Cedia service is fine... atleast in bangalore. So far I've had no issues or complaints. Can't say about mumbai though. FE is around 11.5 in the city and 16 on the highway. Service costs are roughly 1000-1900 rupees depending upon how many kms are done. Out of those cars, Cedia is easily the best in terms performance. Infact in terms of handling, there's no car south of 20 lacs that can match it. I can do sharp turns at 120 kph easily. Try doing that on any other d-segmenter without toppling over or hitting the barriers. No idea about resale as there are no cedias on the used car market. The easiest way to find out is to TD all the cars yourself.
