Cedia or Optra or SX4 Zxi

Hi Friends,

I have had TD of the 3 cars mentioned above and feel Cedia is the best among the lot, very good interiors, exteriors, image but feel somehow it lacks on the resale, maintenance may be high and of course it costs almost 1.5L extra.

Optra and SX4 Zxi cost almost similar but Zxi is ofcourse fully loaded and has all safety features + easy service availability and maintenance I feel should be lower when compared to Optra, however Optra gives more leg space and better drive, low NVH (Drive was very quiet with no outside noises heard inside the cabin), Optra AC also seems better than SX4.

Aveo 1.4 LS at 6.5 and SX4 Zxi at 7.5 seem VFM, what do you guys think about Optra & Cedia ? Will Maintenance be an issue for these ?

Also, I'd appreciate if any existing owners could share there own experiences with these cars.

expected run will be approx 1000km (50/50 city & long drives)
I expect good mileage and low maintenance costs, good comfort for the family and seating for 5 (Optra & Cedia score good on this front).

Will appreciate if you help me by sharing any other issues ..

SX4 ZXi fits the bill perfectly followed by the Cedia and do have a look at the Optra Magnum.

about the ac of the sx4 it is supposed to become much better after the first service.

check out Aveo Nice car VFM 1.4 LS

Its a good car with Max goodies, After gearshift changes it has become better car. I m using Aveo 1.4 LS from last 3 weeks recently got it good car soon i will post 1000 kms report check on that.

SXI is also a good car but it fully loaded comes to an cost which was not my bugdet.

which model of optra are you looking at? does it come with abs and airbags?
i like the optra 1.8LT with the option pack very much. not much fun to drive but a great cruiser.

if you look at the SX4 thread, owners have reported that, service guys are corrected the ac problem at first service.

In what respect Optra Magnum is better han the current Optra?

for a fun to drive car its cedia.

for diesel power optra magnum seems to be promising.

guys i heard that sx4 is giveing too low milage like 7 or 8..is it true

Yeah atleast to couple of my friends it is givng 6.5 and 7.3. Not sure about the reason. Folks any idea why so low FE?

Are you sure?
All Reviews of SX4 says back seat of SX4 can seat only 2 pax comfortably.

Shanky, since you test drove all 3 cars and liked Cedia, I think you should listen to your heart and go for Mitsu Cedia.

Bhpian 'reignofchaos' just bought a Cedia, maybe you can PM him and get more info on Cedia. Good luck!

The rear seat design of the sx4 is such that only two people (probably with a kid) can sit comfortably. The oddly placed retractible elbow support may be the culprit. If your budget allows you to get a Cedia then you should go for it

TD Optra Magnum it seems to very promising because GM in improving in India and has aggressive marketing as well, Lot of ads now a days!

One thing I liked about GM cars best ride comfort (take Tavera, Optra, Aveo, UVA, SPark..) and best build quality (Tavera might not have best build quality in its class but all otherGM cars have best build quality..) and very spacious too for its size.

Although Spark is small car in dimension is space inside except for boot space is very good.

Close the door feel the thud sound its like solid body as well. GM is offerring unmatched warranty as well now a days.

By considerring all these GM carswill click day by day. Test Drive Optra and see how you feel and decide.

Sine you liked Cedia think about it as well

SX4 is too new car, it needs sometime for MUL to make sure car is trouble free I feel.

@Finney: Cedia is a segment above and expensive too. It has to be more comfortable and spacious. But factor into the comparo that the climate control and other conviniences put Sx4 more ahead for the price. PLus maruti is more piece of mind. Hence I said its more comfortable meaning a better family car. maybe I didnt use the right words to put my point forward.

remember I am a supposed to be a Mitsu fan.
