Buying Help Reqd.Current Monthly Cost Rs 2500/-.Choices Fusion (petrol/diesel),SX4etc

Hi All,

I am planing to buy a car. Your help required.

I have few choices in front of me.
1. SX4.
2. Fusion petrol.
3. Fusion diesel (if and when it will launch. Ready to wait for the launch).
4. 2nd Hand toyota corolla.
5. The new indigo (forgot the name n lazy to check on tata's site).
6. Palio Adventure.

7. Any other car that you might suggest which fits my requirement.

My need includes
1. Good ground clearance.
2. Good A$$.
3. Good HVAC.
4. Laptop charging unit.
5. Pick up is NOT an issue for me.
6. Good milage.

My current running costs Rs 2500/- per month. I own Maruti 800 which gives me avg of 13 to 15 KMPL.
-- Considering my above cost per month, should I go for petrol or diesel?

Thanks in advance.
~A.

keeping your requirement in mind i would suggest you Fusion diesal if you can wait.

Petrol wise you have NHC or Aveo 1.4 LS.

In between you need to clarify few things. how many kms you will drive a day, your budget. That should help us to give views.

Other things you have to keep in mind are how many members in your family. Do you drive just in city of its part city and part highway. You need a powerpacked car or not.

Laptop charging unit can be easily commitioned in any car with a car cigg lighter so that shouldnt be an issue..
The new indigo is Indigo DICOR. (it has got a new common rail engine i guess)

Thx for the replies. (I posted the thread but was and still am unable to edit the post).

My budget is 6L for 2nd hand and 7 to 7.5L if I go in for new.
I had almost booked a nice 2nd hand honda accord for 7L - but was unable to close the deal due to work constraints.

I stay in Pune where petrol costs Rs 50 and diesel costs Rs 36 or so. Some calculations and my running turns out to be abt 700 to 800 KM per month.

Car is self driven.

Few of my friends have suggested that with this running its not worth the diesel engine - since its costlier than petrol and has more maintainance.
But I thought that newer diesel engines would be having very less maintainance.

So my basic confusion starts from whether I need to go for a petrol or a diesel one.

And as I have stated, due to the world class road conditions in Pune, I need to have a good ground clearance.
Running in cities - but some highway travel on weekends.
I have sorta found cruise control in my M800. After putting the 4th gear, just pull the choke. Car cruises at 60 to 70 kmph no need of accelerator.
So cruise control is something I would like in my new car.

Thx.

Thx for the replies. I was and am still unable to edit my posts. In fact the reply I gave was deleted when I clicked edit.

Anyway, my budget is 6L for 2nd hand and 7 to 7.5 for new one.
Running is 700 to 800 km per month.
Self driven.
Mostly city - sometimes highway on wkends.

Due to the world class roads in Pune, my basic requirement is good ground clearance.
I have found cruise control kinda thing in my M800. After putting in 4th gear I jst pull the choke. Car cruises at speeds of 60 to 70kmph.

My friends say that due to lesser running, I need to go for petrol.
But I thought that diesels now a days are having less of maintainance cost.

==============
A query... Any plans by fiat to launch sedan or newer version of advanture?

Thanks,
~A.

Hi,

You can only edit the post for 20minutes after you create it. That is the way the rule has been structured for many reasons.
