Which Diesel Car 4.5 to 5.5 Lacs

I am considering buying a new diesel car. Would really appreciate inputs from users, enthusiasts and those better informed than I am on this topic

Budget - 4.5 to 5.5 Lacs
Running - 21,000KMs PA (1750 Kms PM)
Where - City + Highway
City - Mumbai
Driver driven on weeekdays

Primary concern - Fuel economy, maintenance costs
Secondary concern - Passenger comfort, space, power
Not bothered about - looks, status

Current shortlist
Swift Diesel
Logan Diesel
Indigo Diesel
Wagon R Duo (LPG)

I currently own a 4 year old Indica DLX - which i am not at all satisfied with. After 3 years i am paying through my nose on maintenance. So am not so sure abt the Indigo as well

Maintenance - How do these cars fare on maintenance?
Is the Logan too new to be experimented with?
Is it worth paying more for the VDi type version of these cars?
Wagon R Duo - will be a good choice?
Any other vehicle that I should consider? Cant stretch my budget much.
