Going for the final kill---urgent advice solicited

I think i am in the thrilling climax of that 5 year ritual---finalizing a new car to buy! I wanted FE, riding comfort , spaceand low cost of ownership. I went through all hte options in market...ruled out fiesta- not very spacious. verna- too unrefined for me.liked cedia- wanted the lpg version, but it is taking a long time coming. Finally i stumbled upon lancer lxd and fusion D. Lancer dealers are offering nice goodies (spoilers, alloya, skirts, etc ) and a probabl;e cash discount from OTR 827k. FUSION - i liked the concept but really cant make up my mind as i feel it is not VFM and not seeing many on road, BUT i like the seating position...I have to drive 2 to 3 hours a day with my wife. I intend to keep the car for really long time 5 years upwards. Which call should i take? Please help me out.

Not sure what your budget is. Since you are looking at cars from 6-10L OTR from your post, I would say Optra Magnum wld fit your description(FE, Low maintenace cost, Power, riding comfort).

all i can think of is either the sx4 or the city. the lancer is too old now so dont get it.
another thing you can look at is the innova diesel since you want fe, comfort and space. you could get either the g2 or the g4.

arunk since you are sold on the idea of the lancer. i would suggest the cedia. it is newer and has the same comfort of the lancer.

yes my budget is south of 10L and CEDIA is the car i want. But I already sold my old car, a fuel guzzling corsa a month back when i got a decent deal thinking that LPG CEDIA will be soon in coming. Now running on a rent a car! already 40 days over with almost 500 Rs rent a day! I am planning for an outright purchase so thought one month of payment to rent a car will not matter in the final calculation. Now with cedia not coming and the dealers have no clue whatso ever i feel bit over stretched.

I feel you should consider teh Innova since the lancer is really outdated and its diesel engine, in todays day and age, is really antiquated, though quite refined.

As re. the fusion, to my knowledge, ford A.S.S. in Kerala is not that great, so be sure of that first. Also, the fusion is more con-fusion than anything else.

bro do try out the magnum.. FE, riding comfort , space and low cost of ownership are all in there along with the superb performance and warranty

otherwise innova is no doubt a very good buy if you sacrifice a bit on FE (9 - 11 kml depends on driving - city)

1) you could have met TBHPians who live in Cochin who drive Innova,Swift,Safari etc if you had gone for the recent TBHP Vgamon meet

2)Do you believe in politics?

3) If so, get an SUV!

4) no? Get a sedan!

Roads in Cochin are pathetic as they dnt exist in some places.

From your post

1) FE , would 11kmpl with AC do?
2) Space? emm, 4-7 seater?
3) A.S.S.? yup, Himanshu, heard Ford in Kochin/Kottayam have bad a.s.s.!
4) 0)! budget!

From your requirment, it has to be either a Cedia ( if you can live with the petrol and its relative FE). Else, its a no brainer, its got to be a Optra Magnum, its way too powerful and its a diesel

Yup... its either Cedia with LPG or Optra Magnum. The lancer is way too old and underpowered too as its not a turbo diesel.
