7.25L Sedan or Toyota Corolla Executive - Need to make decision by 28/09/07!!!!!

Hey All,

Still waiting to replace the Cielo with either the new Accord or Mondeo when they are launched but in the meantime we need to replace our 3 year old Indica asap.

The options are either a Toyota Corolla Executive (which is essentially a stripped down Corolla - I think it is missing Alloys / Leather / Climate etc. - someone please correct me if I am wrong?)

The second choice is any car upto 7.25Lacs Ex-Showroom. Based on the price I have come across the following choices:
1) SX-4 Zxi with leather: 7.29 Ex Show Room
2) Ford Fiesta Diesel:
3) Aveo 1.6 LT with leather: 7.23 Ex Show Room
4) City ZX Gxi: 7.43 Ex-Show Room
5) Ford Fiesta Diesel - 7.43 Ex Show Room

What is important to us:
1) Saftey
2) Interior Space and Comfort
3) Good F.E.
4) As Loaded as possible.
5) Fun to Drive

Budget cannot be increased so Civic / Octavia / Optra etc. are out of the equation.

I am TD'ing the SX4 and the Corolla in the morning as these would be my top choices but would greatly appreciate any feedback on the rest of the cars. Thanks.

SX-4 will probably be the best fit. Plus it's among the few with Airbags & ABS. The Corolla Exec prob does not have Airbags. Not sure.

Have a looksee at the Chevy SR-V too.

Also why not the Cedia ? Ex-showroom should be less than the Corolla.

7.25L Safety & FTD - Look no further then the Ford Fiesta Fida edition

Seriously the Fiesta is a very good car and that 1.6L all aliminum engine is a beast, test drive it. Else Cedia>SX4>Corolla.

Thx guys. I'll check out the Fiesta too. AFAIK Cedia is over 7.25L. Corolla is available through a special corporate deal.

Vcash - I would prefer the SX4 with the Fiesta as the second choice. Since this is going to be a chauffeured car (I'm assuming here) I think the SX4 is going to be a good bet especially with the handy equipment offer.

As you have mentioned safety as the #1 priority, SX4 is the one with all the safety features in the price range that you are looking at.

Ex-showroom prices are different in every city. Eg. Gurgaon is 7.22L

I guess Corolla HE would be somewhere around 9.5-10 depending on the city. New corolla is not expected until mid '08 and will be worth more dough!

I doubt the new Corolla will go the Camry way in terms of pricing as they are cars from different segments and also because the Toyota will be looking to pit the new Corolla against the Civic.
