have anybody noticed , the car body arch(i dont know the exact term) over the tyres in both aveo and sx4.
In Aveo: there is a hell lot of spcae between the tyres and body arch.
In SX4: Its very less, this is what i feel , when going in uneven roads, the tyre will bump with the body arch which is just above the tyres. As sx4 they have given bigger tyres(16 inch) there is litterally no space in those areas.
My manager have a SX4 so i did a reality check with my aveo parking both the vechile side by side. here some of the conclusion i found out

Features Aveo

What has been the decision? Aveo? SX4? Something Else?

If your driving is mostly in city you can directly go to AVEO. However you cannot compare SX4's Handling and Safe Feeling in Highways with AVEO.

Done. Finally made up my mind on my car. It is NOT a SX4 and it is NOT a Aveo. It is a Corolla HE

Why?

Things I thought about SX4 (IMO) -
1) Very good resale value(but after 4 yrs God knows what'll change in the market, do didn't give too much weightage to this point)
2) Didn't like seating position
3) Didn't like the power/response
4) Hated the interiors
5) Looks BIG and magestic, but not good looking IMO

Things I thought about Corolla HE(IMO) -
1) I love the ride quality of the car.
2) It is going to be phased out in few months(but that is why they are giving it @ low price and that is a trade off)
3) Less features (it has ABS, other things I will buy a little later, not a big deal for me)
4) Slightly expensve than SX4 - but certainly makes me feel it is worth the money spent and makes me feel good

2) Yes it is a stripped down basic model of the Corolla family while SX4 is the fully loaded super looking(hyped?

Good choice buddy. I saw an ad for Corolla in Bangalore where they will back after 3 years - please explore that. D-segment car at C-segment price is a steal !!

Corolla is bigger and better compared to the SX4 or Aveo. Congrats!

What was the OTR price? Any discounts/goodies?

The facelifted Aveo doesn't have this problem anymore.

Crash tests are not yet appilicable to India. So an european report really does not matter to help a car sales here in India.

I own an Aveo for 1+ years, I have takes good test drives with SX4, SX4 is a superior car. I do not think GM has any seriousness about its product.

Lanson Toyota rocks!

Like I said before, I opted for a Corolla HE instead of a SX4 or Aveo. Initially my friends were dead against it as all of them voted for SX4.

But once I got the car delivered I took them for a spin and they all reverted back their stands and voted for Corolla. It certainly is more powerful and spacious than SX4 or Aveo and I don't have to tell you how smooth is the ride quality of a Corolla.

So, to add to all this nice things Lanson Toyota in Chennai was extremely good to work with. Mr. Hari was the sales person there and he really went to extremes to make sure everything is ok with my devliery process. For example, it was 11.30pm in the night when I took the delivery (delayed due to rains and other reasons). He stretched and stayed back in the show room till 11.30pm in the night to help me take the delivery on that day.

Congrats!!! The corolla is a really nice choice. Spacious, comfortable and easy to drive. The HE model with discounts is a real steal. Good choice.

I looked at SX4 et al for a while as well, and finally bought a Corolla H5 in December.

I'm very happy I went that way. I'm sure you're too.

Happy Driving!
