need help in selecting a 2nd vehicle

hi guys
my cousin is seeing a vehicle
we r *thinking of taking *from *mahavir motors , he is very reputed and sells the vehicles without any flaws, it's completely done up and dont need any repairs: here's what they r asking for the following vehicles:::

accent dls:2001 :60 k kms :4.75lacs
accent gls:2001 :60 k kms :4.45lacs
lancer glxi :2000 :32 k kms :4.25lacs
safari * * * :2000 :85 k kms :3.95lacs

in hyd generally for accent dls they r asking any where between 4.5 to 5 lacs
ie for example an oct 2003 accent dls they are asking 5 lacs it has done 18 k kms
and for a 2001 model done 4.7 lacs
awaiting your reply
dont you guys think the prices are bit high???

Its a no-brainer. Go for the Lancer, and year 2000 models were still built very well and with a high import content. 32000 is nothing for a Lancer...its still a virgin!

I think a little below 4 lacs would be a good price for this Lancer, unless its in exceptional condition.

Dont even think about it. At 85000, its good days are already over (If ever there were any)

I would go with the Lancer. Try getting down the price a bit and I guess the car is in good shape since you said your dealer is reputed to sell good cars

Easy choice.... the Lancer! Dosen't have the power and performance of a City, but, it's still a very good car.

well our first chocie was any dls, coz he and me travel a lot, but the mavahir motors(he is the dealer for MB and skoda in hyd) guy for an additional 20k fit's rta approved lovato gas kits for lpg and the lpg here is 19.50 ps per kg!

this is most likely gonna be in exchange for his ikon 1.6, which we r taking for evaluation tommorow,
tell me one thing, why they dont suggest gas kits for the ikon 1.6 i beleive that some electrical problems occur, this is what the ford guy and the mahavir motors guy told

what second hand diesel vehicle do you guys suggest for around 4l?

even i wud suggest the Lancer glxi (is it a Diesel....anyways does not matter).

Even the Accent DLS (with the TUD5 engine) is not a bad idea.

Hey aadix

Do you think the Mahavir guys will come down on their prices? Once my friend went there for a Santro and they never came down on their price.

But when I was selling my car, i had better experiance with them copared to True Value and Automart.

hey v12 the glxi a petrol
addy
just go for the lancer or look around for a diesel ikon - better than accent dls , u guys love the ikon , and its a diesel
the petrol ikon is better than the accent so dont bother lookin for a petrol accent
hey u can get an astra diesel with low mileage for that price.....
what do u guys say
just look around

Hey aadix

In the list that u've mentioned i'd say the lancer. Easily the better one out of the others. But if u'd ask me then ask ur cousin to also look for another car in the sub 5 lakh range. The Baleno.

You get one year old Baleno's for lil less than 5 and two year olds for 4. What's also surprising is that there are quite a few low mileage Balenos currently for sale in the 2nd hand market. They are good, reliable cars with a good torque spread and pretty good FE. Also it is more comfortable than either the Lancer or the City. Take a look and i think u might be smitten into buying one for ur cousin.

thx guys
but the astra's out of question coz of the spare parts prices, we werent seeing the baleno too coz of the same reason

tell me one thing if we go in for a lancer petrol or diesel, few years down the line will it become like the cielo??? coz of rumours of mitsu's bankrupcy???

and whats the avg rate for the accent dls??
