yeah its true. Also for the optra. It gives better FE below 80kmph than at 100kmph , is bigger and rides better than New Honda city at any speeds.

DUDE,
i own an optra 1.6

well regarding FE:
if my dad drivers it : 10.5-11Kmpl
if i drive it: 8.5-9.5kmpl

Rear leg space:
there is a lot of space at the back.
i sit without any problem.

well regarding the price:
i bought the card in June 2005 for 8.15L OTR (Hyderabad)
not sure regarding the latest price...

FE - The Honda will surely give you more. How much would be your monthly run ?
Price - You would first need to identify the variant you want. Honda ranges from 7.5 ish OTR to 9+ OTR, Optra ranges from 8.5ish OTR to probably 11/12L.
Rear leg space - I believe the Optra has more. It's an overall bigger car.
Looks - up to you ! I like the Optra more.

Optra anyday for me... i dont mind a little inferior FE for an overall, much better car.
Go for 1.6 VGIS Royale..... Very nice car.

WHy would you want a smaller car just for 1-2 kmpl more fuel economy.

Optra is good looking, bigger, more spacious, More comfortable, MOre kit, more power, better for highways drives, better interiors.

NHC just has the FE trumpcard favouring it.

some please tell me that Optra's AC cools as good as NHC. For me that is one comfort that I cannot give up on a 8+ lakhs car.

Many dont want to take risk with GM. Mileage and Honda brand will make Optra a no competition for NHC, though it excels NHC in many departments, expect the most important one for the Indian public. Already you can see the roads started to fill up with more NHC.

If I have to choose from between ONLY the NHC & Optra, I would pick the NHC. Agree that the Optra is the looker of the two, but I can live with average/different looks. The car's looks is just one of the factors and for the really important attributes, I don't have to look any further than a Jap car. And in any case, I would never ever buy a Korean or American car.
However, if the choice has to be made from the existing range of C-seg cars, I would not take either of them. In that case, it has to be the B.....

What was the factor on which this rating was done ?
BTW, after insisting that no one bring Baleno to this thread, you yourself can't seem to resist doing it.

Unfortunately the poll is closed and the results do not reflect opinion out there. NHC would've been my choice...

So ? What was it that you found irrelevant / offensive in my post ? You mentioned some rating from a mag and I was curious to know the factor on which the rating was done. Agree that your post was sometime ago, but does it make a difference ? And even though the poll is closed, the thread is still open for posting.

And I can't really fathom what is the big deal about the date someone became a member/bhpian. I joined the site in Dec05, you joined a few months ago in Aug05. What's the big deal here ?
