Going to book a Laura Ambinete - Red

Hi Dear,

I am going to book a Laura Ambiente - Red in a day or two. Had taken test drive. To drive, the car is great. Here I have to say that I am a Corolla user since last 3 years and owned two Corolla (H2 & H5) both same Perl Mica Color.

None on the Cars in that range gives me features like Corolla for sure. 6 CD In dash, Audio Control in Streering, Auto AC, very great seats in back and good center arm rest (Rear and back).

What I am missing in Laura Ambinete are all the above.

Any suggestions on Pre Delivery etc and freebies offered. I am not upgrading the Fabric inside as of now. Let see it fist and then I can upgrade this. I may be takign from Udit Motors in Thane. Some guys form ICICI are getting the deal. No much freebies but. In Fiannance, it coems at 1.30 lakhs down payment (all inclusive) and close to 28,500 EMI (For 5 years)

Any feedback on Audio quality, I think it only has got 4 speakers. To me the sound does not seems great and much less quality that my Corolla (with stock 4 speakers and 2 Tweeters)

Pl suggest. It will be helpful for me to shift to Laura. OR my wife is consistantly forcing me to go for same H5 Corolla again that I am not intending as down 6 - 8 months, we can see a new Corolla altogether. But till date, driving corolla is also a great fun altogether.

Thanks,
Vipul Kumar

Hi Vipul,

Doesn't this seem a tad high? By my calc - you are paying 18.4L in 5 years. I thought the Ambienete was 13.5L ex-showroom so 5L in interest? Are the figures right or are you getting shortchanged by the bank?

For 18.4L, I think the Laura is just way too overpriced. Not worth the price for a rebadged Octavia.

My suggestion is to think twice and calculate hard before you sign the cheques.

But we also have to consider that the upfront price that has to be paid is only 1.3 Lakhs and you have the car at your disposal. I consider this as a "Pay as you drive". Over 5 years I have to pay 5 Lakhs in Interest (roughly 1 Lakhs an year).

I think any of the car of this segment will work out the same.Corolla H5, its coming close to 16 Lakhs over 5 year.

Other alternative is that I pay significant amount upfront (I thinking more than half).

Any suggestion: either go for 5 years with this EMI of 28500/- OR pay heave amount upfront. I will anyway nto keep the car after 5 years.

Thanks,

Wow, your surely are getting shortchanged. The total interest over a period of 5 years should not cross 2L or 2.5 L maximum, if your paying only 10% upfront.

hey vipul,
i guess you will do the math part...

regarding the car, i recently test drove it for my BIL. it was a wonderful car. He also had a corolla and wanted a change. the drive, the interiors were very good. the space is also quite good.. a little more than corolla. i could not make out any difference in the audio, it seemed quite good. sitting in the skoda itself will make you feel safe. it feels so heavy. you open the door and you can see the difference. i was pretty impressed. we also test drove the Grand Vitara and since he wanted a change from the normal luxury sedan, we decided on the Grand Vitara.

thanks.

The Cost of Laura Ambiente Ex Thane is 14,33,051 (12,89,990 + Reg 93799 + Insurance 49262). After a DP of 1,30,000/- (All inclusive of Reg and Insurance. There is nothing free in Ambiente now)) with an EMI of 28,500/- per month, I see that I am ending up paying an total interest of 4.06,949/- over 5 years (Per year the inerest component outflow comes as an average of 81390/-) with an interest rate of 10.5 %.

Is this a bad deal ??? Ther eis nothing better any of the Skoda dealers give in Mumbai / Thane.

Your taking loan from Udit Motors Thane or the car? If Loan then i guess our taking it from GMAC(General Motors Acceptance Corporation) What is the interest rate you are getting the loan?

I am planning to take the car from JMD Skoda, Thane and loan from ICICI. There is one guy who does for all my cars and suposed to give me the best deal.
I have also checked with Autograph in Andheri. They had given me two option with 26,402/ - (DP = 243,453) and 24,720 (DP = 299,771). There are no discounts it seems by any of the dealers. I am only eying the 3.5 % or so of the fianance discount which has to be adjusted in this deal. Thats all.

From ICICI I am gettign 10.5 % interest rate.

By proper- I think he meant a higher spec laura, the elegance or the L&k and not the ambiente.
