Well the beauty of verna is in its diesel engine. Request you uncle to either go for the diesel verna or honda city vtec if he prefers petrol.

I would agree with BUSA !

The best petrol car in that price bracket is Fiesta 1.6

Not as bad as the Skodas and Hondas. But yes, Ford after-sales is inconsistent. Some dealers are alright, while some outright suck. For instance, an Ikon in the family gets excellent service from Shaman Ford. But there are some others who complain about Wasan.

Best to search within our archives for a dealer review.

Since your uncle is looking at the Verna petrol, like the others have mentioned, the Fiesta 1.6 is a much better car and contender. check out on reviews about the dealer whom you would need to deal with, and you would make no mistake.

As for reviews on the Fiesta, read here:

That is the common perception for Ford cars, but I am quite happy with Mody Ford in Hyderabad.I've so far read only one complaint on that dealer, though there are lots of horror stories about the other dealer--Fortune Ford.

The thing is there is only one dealership for ford and honda out here. The ford a.s.s is bad. Have had experiences with my BIL's Fiesta. Honda is better but the service center is far from where he lives. Hyndai's service center is right round the corner for him and he has been their client for a long time. Hence he is inclined towards the verna.

If he can stretch till Vtec then why not a Select?

If he wants VFM ; XXi and SX4 ZXi

Performance; Fiesta 1.6, Vtec

Looks and budget ; Aveo 1.4

Hey Rohan . First of all you gotta tell us your uncle's driving style. The best one's in that segment is Honda City and Ford Fiesta 1.6 . Verna petrol sadly is not as fun to drive as its diesel sibling (taking aside the soft suspension set ups). What i'd recommend is
  1. Ford Fiesta and Honda city if he enjoys driving
  2. aveo/verna/fiesta if he is after good looks .
  3. Honda City if he is after trouble free life LOL !
  4. SX4 if he is after everything (looks weird to me but many prefer its looks)
Do insist your uncle to TD all of them.
