New Indigo CS vs Logan LPG

Hi Friends,

I am looking to upgrade to a sedan and my budget is around 5 Lakhs OTR.

Right now only two sedans, Indigo CS and LPG Logan ( yet to be launched ) qualify.

I need to know from you experienced members your views on these two cars. I am looking at lots of space ( which both offer ), high GC, tough build and very good suspension, reliable service and above all, easy maintenance so that even a road side mechanic can help in case of an emergency.
I think every car owner wants all the features mentioned above in his car.
So, I would like to know from current owners of Indigo and Logan their frank views.
Thanks.

For your requirement I suggest Logan or Indigo CS because both offer what you need.

Indigo CS since its new car I doubt If we can trust build quality or few mechanism, reliability factor from new cars of TATA, After 6 months of launch i prefer buying TATA cars.

Test drive both and buy based on what you like

Regards,

Ravi.

This statement is absolutely incorrect, since the Indigo CS uses the exact same mechanicals as any other Indigo. Suffice to say, they have been tried and tested on Indian roads since donkey's years now.

@ Nitin, I'd suggest you wait until the Logan LPG is launched first. Unless we have a TD report of how well the kit is mated to the engine, a discussion will be pointless.

Indigo CS Petrol doesnt makes any sense to me. A 1.2 litre 65 bhp engine pulling a 1 tonnne + seda puts me off. CS diesel would be your best bet.

I think it is the same engine as in Xeta ( although we have 1.4 option in its top model GLX)
If its the case than for sure this is going to be underpowered car and not to mention Tata will sell it with 25 k discount just after couple of Months after launch!

Agree with ET - the 1.4 petrol would've been adequate for CSP. CSD makes much more sense. Don't even think twice. The gas kits are not simple items - it will take time being proven in mkt (then add lesser spares availability/resale) - indigo CS should be decent on that count.

Plus, the CS has the good ole tata 1.4 diesel. mechanics around the country know it inside out by now.

The CS should have come with the 1.4 Petrol engine, or better still the 1.2 Fiat engine coming up in the V3 indicas.

Buy a diesel if you want to save on fuel costs, LPG is way too pricey.

Nitin, out of the two i would suggest the Indigo CS, its more VFM then the Logan, looks fantastic in comparission to the Log(off) and Tata has much more service center to Renault. Resale of the Indigo is better then the Logan.

All things counted- The Indigo CS beats the Logan hands down. Only area where the Logan has a upper hand is the boot space.

LPG prices are also going up, as John a has mentioned stay away.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
BTW, don't you think 1.4 Diesel is way too underpowered ? I wish they'd come out with a bigger engine but the Concorde guy says they have absolutely no idea if at all they'll launch a bigger engined CS.
How good is this 1.4 Diesel engine in your opinion?
Please let me know your TD feedback of this CSD.
After seeing your replies one thing is sure. Logan has been logged off.
Thanks.

I TD'd the CSD the other day and found the looks great, but what put me off was the rubbery gear shift and the sluggish engine.

The IndigoCS has just launched , obv he is going to get a new piece !

I suggest you go for the IndigoCS diesel, main factor being ease of service, Tata has a wiiiide network of service centres in almost every corner of the country. Renault on the other hand barely has any.
