the ikons time is a bit too slow
its way faster im sure
and the brakes are quite good ...
should be 3 - 4 secs less
Well, cars do feel faster than they really are, that's the reason why i never believe what i see on the speedo. Anyway, this is what OD had to say about the Ikon.

Overdrive - ""Another car with sporty pretensions falls by the wayside with brakes being the worst culprits. Even though the wheels are shod with decent sized rubber, they lock up at the slightest hint of extra pressure.

Speedometer over-read and the roar of the exhaust made me feel much faster than I actually was; 100kmph only came up in about 14secs. The distance the car took to stop was longer than that taken by all the other cars apart from the Maruti Esteem. In terms of stopping time too, the Ikon is better than only the Hyundai Accent and the Maruti Esteem.""

Ask our very own GTO, when he tested the Ikon with his G-tech pro, it turned out times of around 13.5-13.7 secs. Well you can't say the driver isn't good coz, this same guy managed 8.93 for the Vtec.

Tell you what, next meet take GTOs testing gear, put it on your car and test it. Your car has free flow n stuff right? So you must expect 10-11 secs. See how fast your car really is.

Yup, I tested for a 13.7 on a stock Ikon 1.6. Well tuned and with decently worn standard rubber.

I can get the Gtech at the next meet. Even the Vtec feels better now (at 15000 kms compared to before). Hell knows, we can probably manage a better time.

Nah, it would be fair if you "Ikon owners" tried it yorselves. Lol

That way, we "vtec owners" won't get blamed for bad driving. hehe.

The g-tech pro gives you 0-60mph (96kmph), so the Vtec should take around say 8.93 + 0.3 = 9.2 secs to hit 100kmph.

Why are ACI figures so much different from OD's figures?
these are some ACI figures i remember...
0-100
Ikon 1.6 11.96 sec
City 1.5 10.68 sec
City Vtec 10.01
Baleno 11-12 sec

0-160
Ikon 1.6,city 1.5 and Baleno all take around 40 sec
City Vtec takes arnd 33.xx sec
