If your budget permits and if you "really" want the goodies in Vxi.

Now... Ikon Flair or Swift VXI????

Hi Team BHPians....

I am still busy with car searches.... and stumbled upon a Ford Ikon Flais 1.3, April 2004, sparingly used, 14,000 kms, in top condition @ 3Lacs (owner is asking for)

Now the issue is....

I go for Swift VXI @ 4.94Lacs(+ accessories cost, approx 25K =5.2Lacs)?

or

Bargain hard with owner and buy Ikon for 2.8L? (carwale suggests around 2.9L)

My Requirements:-
- Does not really include rear boot space, though i like such vehicles
- Avg of 10-12 kmpl is fine with me
- Preferably maintainence shud be low, though i can afford more
- Would definitely like to save as much money as i can for now

As usual, I am confused. Plz Help!

Thanks
Rajat

Stick to the Swift. I strongly recommend the VXi version. The tacho is one of the very important features. Plus, I also feel that VXi is more VFM than LXi.
Even though you spend little more now, you can be sure you can get it back in resale. You can sell it back to the same Maruti dealer(True Value).

That Ikon deal also looks good, IMO. Sparingly used car. But from what I've heard, Ikon spares are slightly costlier than Swift.

Ultimately I feel, it is going to be Used Sedan or New Hatch.

Should definitely try to get the VXi, the money would be well spent as the extra features you quite justify the increase in price.

Another Option!!!!!!! PLZ HELP!

Guys,

Just when I book a new Swift, now I am faced with another 2nd hand vehicle.

March 2007, Swift VDI, fully loaded, done 13,000 Kms...

Asking price is 5.3L

I checked carwale, it comes to 4.7(approx)

I talked to the guy, and found he was ready to come down to 5.1L, but was NOT ready to go below it.

I dont kno if the deal is good.... specially on price front.

I am going for VXI for 4.94 + 25K accessories... why not go for VDI one year old vehicle???? I talked to my dealer regarding cancellation of booking, he said he'd deduct nominal charges and return the rest of the booking amount.... Also, delivery of VXi is "far off" looks like not before April mid.

What do you say guys?

Thanks
Rajat

5.3 l is little high . But Swift Vdi resale will be awesome now as the waiting period is huge for that vehicle. I guess you getting confused too often . If you can get it around 4.9-5 l for VDI then it might be ok. End of the day it all comes to your daily usage. My advice would be sticking to the VXI ( for your info im also waiting for Vxi For more than a month.Ill get my vehicle after April 20th only!!) so have patience and stick to your Vxi.

Stick to your new vehicle rather than going for the old one. There has to be some problem with the VDI that you have looked or else why would the customer sell of a beauty of a car so soon.

I think if now the price looks a little on a better side. WIth the perfect engine of VDI over the VXi, I think you can better go for the Diesel version. But yes remember you will not get a better resale value as you are already a second owner and the person who ever buys you car would be third owner. But if you plan to keep the car for many years (5 atleast) thne this is a perfect car.

Hi Esteem Lover,
Looks like you are up to date with Esteem prices. I have just sold my Zen and am looking at going in for an Esteem. True Value have a 2006 Sept. Lxi model for which they are asking 2.65L. Is this a good price? Car seems O.K. Bombay registered. First owner. Run 20K Kms. Decent bodywork. No accessories. No ICE.
Please reply asap as I am due to finalise the deal soon.
If you know of any other TBHP members Esteem's for sale I would definitely be interested. I would prefer the Vxi model. Only Type 3. 2005 and later.
Don't mind paying a bit more for a good car.
Regards,
Suzuki San
