Corolla Or Accord???

Its an ongoing battle in peoples minds whether to go for Corolla or budge for an Accord!!! Personally I trip on Accord without doubt but im not too sure about the specs. Can the experts shed some light to enlighten the confused mass . performance comparison???

Well that would depend on which Accord you plan to pit the Corolla against.

You can't really compare it with the Accord 2.4 since OD never tested it. And i don't trust the AC figures, even though the Accord they tested, blasted to 100 in 8.98 secs and to 150 in 20.xx secs.

Are you asking in terms of a drag car or somehting?

Because straightline speed (and reliability) are probably the only time the accord and corolla see eye to eye!?

Both cars are top class Japanese products. If you want a big car, the Accord should be your choice, if not, go for the Corolla. The next point to be considered, is your budget. If you go by our auto mags, the performance of both these cars is more or less similar. But, I believe that the Honda handles better.

Accord or Corolla? None. Go for the Octavia RS.

True, but even here the Corolla gets sidelined by the mighty RS.

What the Corolla needs is a Turbo Charger on that 1.8 or a 2 ltr 150 bhp NA engine. And not to forget a sporty suspenssion, lower ride height and good rubber.

The accord anyday, infact i'd suggest the 6th gen accord over the corolla if the price point is the determining factor....

honda reliability, honda performance....a more sober looking vehicle with a distinctly better looking rear.....2.3 vTEC Vs 1.8 VVTi .... its really a no brainer

F.E. (C/H) - 9.5/16 (not sure)
Front Leg Room - 118
Rear Knee Room - 93
Rear Shoulder Room - 142
Boot Space (ltrs) - 420

Corolla
Disp. (ltrs) - 1.8

Well the Corolla produces 125bhp and 16.1 kgm or 160nms of torque. If you got this info from the last pages of overdrive, it's a misprint.

You really can't compare the Corolla and the Accord - they are in two different leagues. The Accord should be compared with the Camry (I feel the Accord wins this one). The Corolla should be compared with the Civic (not yet available in India) or with the Octavia or Optra.
