Which Car amongst Optra, City or...

Hi,

Need help and advice!

I am in process of buying a new car. I have seen and taken a test ride on following:

Optra 1.6 and Optra 1.6LS
City GXi
Fusion +

Am thinking of Elantra, but not sure of. Skoda would be slightly out of my budget. My Budget is around 8 Lacs

Fusion, I didn't like it much also, its overly priced at 6.95.

City GXi, i am getting a discount of 25K, while on Optra am gettinga discount of around 35K.

Earlier I was thinking of Optra 1.6, but I came to know that base optra is also coming with beige interior.

Now my question, which one should I select. Or Can you suggest something else or is there any new model coming.

Thanks

Even I feel you should go for the Optra or even city will be a good choice.

Discount of Rs. 25K on city? Are you sure? How?
Anyway, go for opra from among the ones you shortlisted. Next is fusion.

This is a sort of coprorate discount Honda is giving (not the dealers) This is on ex-showroom

Similarly on Optra the discount is 15k+8K+8K=38K
Yes Optra is offered in beige color now at Rs 8,000 extra

So the base model would cost 7.47+.08-38=7.17 then I have to take remoteless key entry system for additional 5K

I hope going for base Optra is better than Optra LS

City vtec? how that is going to be different from City GXi, any pics available?

Well, the difference is in the engine. The Vtec model will have a 1.5 Vtec engine producing 110bhp (in other countries, so you can expect it to produce around 100 bhp here.

But, my guess is that if Honda has plannned it right, they would try and bring that 100bhp at a much lower rpm than the older Vtec, which would make it surprisingly peppy and if they can match the old Vtec's 132nm at an rpm as low as 3000 rpm (compared to the old one's 4700 rpm), boy is that car gonna be fun to drive.

I think the new model would have 15 inch wheels too. All round disc brakes are a bit doubtful, even though the one sold abroad, has it.

In a straight line, the new Vtec could infact keep up with the older one. Now the question is, what happens when they reach the first corner............

I have videos from Best Motoring where the NHC and the Jazz are being raced on track, and i must say, these cars do have some potential, even though they don't look like it.

ya but dont expect the biege interior theme in the VTEC
from the looks of what you want in the interior i get the feeling the optra base with biege will suit you
LS has fogs and a music system but thats irt

Thanks everyone for their feedback. I am all set for Optra Base Model.

BTW: Base comes with a music system as well.

The only major differences between LS and base model are Keyless Entry(this would cost me 5-6K), Tilt steering (I luv this), adjustable hieght for drivers seat, body colored side mirrors and handle... price diff 70K.

Now which color to buy? Mica or Silver? I am not a fan of black!

go for the new light golden beigish color thats come..my neighbor just bought it.....looks very pretty. BTW there's no monogram on that car indicating its engine capacity. I'm assuming it to be 1.6....correct? & the trim looks LS to me.

True its 1.6, with interiors of LS, though it didn't have tilt steering and hieght adjustable seats.
