Skoda Laura or Honda Accord 2008 ?

Before i was confused between Magnum, Laura and Civic.

Now as they are going to release Accord 2008 in a month.

I am just confused if i should go for Laura Elegance or Honda Accord 2008.

Accord eyes closed.

It is in a different league altogether - and all comparisons apart : a fresh model vis a vis a 3 year old one.

Agreed. Its the latest entrant and has been well received. However if you are interested in diesel then the Magnum would make sense.

I'd say you go with the Accord. Of course, you must wait until you test-drive it yourself, but its pretty easy to predict what one can expect from a conservative lineup like that of the Accord.

The Laura, unfortunately, is not getting good reviews any longer. Sure, its loaded to the brim, has a great gearbox (DSG) and an efficient diesel. But the reported problems, horrible after-sales and expensive upkeep are disappointing. I wouldn't say that its a bad buy, but surely not the best either.

The new Accord will be bigger, more powerful and importantly, better to own (higher reliability, extended warranty + low cost of ownership). Plus there is the feel good factor of owning the latest. I suggest you wait.

I would go for the Accord with my eyes closed. Bigger car with much more room & miles better service, support & reliability. Is a no-brainer in my book!

And yeah, it's going to be much better VFM too.

The Honda Accord would be your best bet. It has performance, luxury and VFM wrap in one tight bundle of driving pleasure.

My only grudge against the new Accord is its industrial look; it also looks like an American sedan: of which I'm not a fan of. The previous one had panache.

short answer is accord. if for whatever inexplicable reasons you want to skip the mighty honda, at that price laura l&k (not elegance) can be an option if you need:
auto - dsg is great
for highways - tdi bad for short city drives
self driven - turbo diesel & handling
smaller/compact car (cant seat 5)

accord will of course be a great buy considering it is new and from honda. and i am sure it will blow you away when you see it in flesh. laura interiors are avg.

I would suggest you to go for Accord. Laura is really expensive to maintain. The new accord looks really a segment higher both in length and looks. The only gripe about Accord may be its ride (am not sure about this) apart from that it stands over Laura in every other department be it comfort/Space/A.S.S .

PS :Interestingly Laura commands higher resale value over accord in here.

Accord is a good buy considering all aspects, but laura cannot be compared to the accord. If it is the accord do compare the superb with it.Still between your given choices i would say the accord for its fresh looks.

Called 3 Dealers in NCR:

Dealer A: 16L - April end delivery
Dealer B: 18L - April beg delivery
Dealer C: 22L - May end delivery

So basically no one knows! If anyone does find out, please let me know as well - need to get this car quick (unless HMSI decides to smoke some strong stuff before sitting down to price this.)

The accord all the way, it's a bigger, better looking, reliable, easy to maintain, VFM , Quality car.

I think April 2008's Autocar has some owner feedback on Laura which questions its `bullet proof build quality'. Also see teambhp's own site which has a fair owner's review on most car models.
