Hey,stay away from Fords which are more than 5 years old. They become very difficult to maintain. Why dont you consider Baleno,OHC,Lancer,Esteem,Palio. They all fall in your budjet.

Since you want something that is powerful, stick to the Ikon 1.6 Petrol or Palio 1.6 Petrol.
They're both really good driver's cars. The Ikon has a more responsive engine while the Palio has a better ride/handling package.
Also, both have a really poor resale value, but you can get a newer model Palio 1.6 for the same money.
I think that the prices for both the cars are on the higher side though. The Ikon if it is in really good condition shouldn't be more than 1.5L max and the Palio, assuming it is a 1.6 engine and not the 1.2, in really good condition and a 2002 model should be around 1.2L.

Suj , I wouldnt advice you to go for Ford cars above 5 years. Already Ford's
maintenance is well known. Could you specify your budget? Give a look at
Used Baleno & OHC.1.5 OHC would be a good buy if your looking for power.

Hmmm in 2lakhs FORD's that you will get would have done 50000 up.. Its Heavy on the pocket on fuel and spares. Other than that great car.

Try OHC 1.5/1.3 99' should get a good deal.

Stay away from Ford. Go for OHC or Baleno, for that matter.

Only Maruti, Honda, Hyundai for 2nd hand cars please. They have a good support network and parts are available.

Ford - is a complete NO NO... Fiat cars are rock solid... Nevertheless, if possible, steer away

Pen down your budget first. Dont look at car and price. Post your budget

i would suggest that you get the top model lancer the second option

and always stay way from cars sold by the dealers
i have seen most dealer pick up accidental cars and get them repaired
