the rs seems like a better buy as long as its not been abused. i suggest you take it to a skoda dealer and get it checked out thoroughly.

the 2003 accord is the first gen that came to india right?

The RS is good if you want to drive fast and pull 0-100s, 1/4 miles etc...

If you want style and enough power to day to day stuff, coast then the Accord by all means!!!

Besides if you get the Accord you'll have 75 thousand to blow on a stage 1 with a remap

As stated , you might need to pen down your requirments. For speed and thrill, RS should be picked with closed eyes. However, for luxury and comfort, accord should be picked up !!

I am in the same dilemma right now. Found few 2.4 accords but no RSs.
Both are great cars. I have driven both but prefer the RS with respect to drive quality and the adrenalin rush. But when it comes to reliability Honda scores hands down(especially with skoda's bills one is always worried). If you can push your budget to 8-8.5 I am sure you will find a newer Accord with probably a V6.

The 2005 RS seems to be very expensive at 8.25 lakhs. I saw a 2005 RS run 30k for 7lakhs but let go of the opportunity few months back. But if the car is in excellent condition I would say go for it and pay 7.5 lakhs. The skoda feels really solid except when you have maintainence issues.
BTW if you are not interested in the RS please pass on the details as I will be interested.

The most important factor is that most Acoords are not ripped whereas most RSs are ripped. So now its for you to take the call. If you have a big family then go for the Accord but if its just long drives with your better half then the RS would be perfect.

Cheers

The one thing i'm worried about the Accord is that its an 03' model... which means 5yrs old. And i kinda feel its too much as i haven't used a car for more than 2yrs

And always wanted to get the Skoda RS... Its one helluva car. It might not be as practical as the Accord, but the rush u get is totally unmatched. And regarding the spares, i think u get them for lower rates in the open market. Plus i think its easier to mod as well and a lotta parts are available probably thru Petes...

Anyways, do gimme ur opinions n advices..

A newer car is always a better bet. If you have driven an RS then I would think you would go in for the yellow devil. You get spares outside with people like PJSPEED maintaining RSs. The spares are almost at half the price if sourced outside.

Karthik, I drive a 220bhp Octy. Call me biased, but nothing beats that!!
But, get the car thoroughly checked.

Karthik, Having driven the RS for 80,000 Kms I can't get enough of it. Also IMO , its wiser buying a newer car.. A 2003 model seems too old. The cost of the car is quite ok considering the remap and stuff. The only catch is whether or not the car has been abused. You don't want to look at expensive repairs as soon as complete your purchase. So get it checked thoroughly and if you're satisfied, then bargain hard for the RS.
Also in Delhi, I recently saw a 2005, Mar , Accord going for 8.5.

octy vRS!! go for it after all you live only once, and the powerplant is the same one used in the audi TT 1.8T which just adds to the appeal. its high speed stability is light years ahead of the accord too.
