200 or 2000 RPM?
yes if you run it in 2000 RPM the turbo might be damaged.
I have read somewhere in this forum.

I thought Turbo kicks in at 1600 rpm.
I thought as long as one keeps above 1600rpm or so, turbo should be in action.
Shortly coming up is my 1000 km report on my Laura.

Am going to book the Laura L&K MT on thursday (beige colour mostly) prior to this i test drove the accord and was taken aback by the sheer size of the car and rejected it because firstly it would not fit in my garage and secondly felt that the quality of interiors were better in the laura also it gives a mileage of 6-7kpl in the city, then went to see the Altis, it is a very good option to the civic but felt that it was a big step down from the octavia L&K (which i currently own) and finally i test drove the superb, by god what power and the rear seats are like two lazy boys. I would have got it but i knew that the next gen superb would be coming next year so decided against it.

P.S. thanks for letting us know what freebies you guys got, it would be easier to bargain now. also would you guys let me know if i should be weary of anything?

3 Months is a not a big problem.
But please check it thoroughly before going for registartion.
My Car is arrived and probably today car will go for Registartion.
Meanwhile what is your Salesperson Name.
I am dealing with Vishal.
the problem is,Everyone in that showroom is lacking of knowledge about the cars.
They don't know even a small details .
But for Chennai People who planned for Skoda has no other go.
Gurudev is the only dealer here.
I am in Amanjikarai near to Nelson Manickam Road.So the showroom and service station is very near to me.

Let me know, once you get the car.
What happened to Millenium Motors, have they closed down??

Yes they closed before 2 years.
In Chennai,Only Gurudev Motors are the sole dealer for Skoda.
I too booked Cappichino Beige Skoda Laura L&K MT.
But those Sales teams are really crazy. They often give promise on delivery dates. But they have never shown my car which was in Stock yard in Ambattur as they said .
May be i'll get delivered my car on Friday.Let's see

Talk to the main guy-the sales manager(forgot his name) in teynampet. He will give you tips to deal with the guys and process the whole thingy faster. Else tell them you will pull out of the deal. I have done that earlier and things moved really fast after that.

AsUsual,They done a Great job.Sold the car to somebody.
My SalesPerson Mr.Vishal forgot to block the car in my Name.
So they sold it lastweek itself as it's not blocked by anybody.
Spoke with the manager in Gurudev Motors,PH Road.
He told,he intended another car and will be coming by this friday and will be delivered by next week.
I don't know what's happening.
I love that car so much.So i digest myself and awaiting my car.
This is the problem if the dealer is monopoly. No other go if we really need this car Skoda Laura.
Though i called everyday about the Status they simply said,They forgot to block.
Seriously it's very awkward work done by Gurudev Motors.
Hope they will be good in A.S.S.(Little afraid too )
Guys pray for me to get the car soon.Fate hmmm...

Make sure you get a letter in writing from them on the confirmation of your booking.

I've had terrible experiences with Gurudev; although I heard from Redsfx that their after sale service has improved.

Like you mentioned, the problem is that they are the only dealer for Skoda in Chennai and are exploiting this fact to the max.

I'm very sorry to hear about this, hope the same does not happen to me as i am going to book the car tomorrow. I've never had any complains about Gurudev's A.S.S. hope the same holds true for you also.
Look at the bright side you will atlest have the satisfaction of knowing that you are getting fresh stock.

May we know what problems you had with gurudev, as it would help us in the future.

Hi, I have had nightmares with their after-sales service.

This was about 2 years ago and they only had their service centre at Mount Road open. I have an RS and also used to own a 2.0 Petrol.

They could not diagnose basic stuff, despite sending both cars thrice within a week and I had to send the cars to an independent garage.

Anyway I had my RS done up by Pete's and its now maintained by Electra Automotive @ Kottivakkam.

On the sales front, I had enquired about the Petrol Superb about a year ago. At that time there was a discount of 1 lac from Skoda itself on the car, as they were only selling the diesels and Skoda itself had huge stock of the Petrol Superbs. ( I verified this with dealers in Delhi, Mumbai and Cochin and Coimbatore )

Needless to say, Gurudev did not want to pass on this discount and they ended up losing a customer.
