Swift Dzire Registration Queries - Help Needed

One of my relative (living in Bangalore) is going to get Swift Dzire LDi from Chennai. He tried booking in Bangalore. But due to loonnnnggg waiting period, he backed off. He somehow managed to make a booking using his sources in Chennai and he is expecting the car anytime.

My question is:
1. Can he just do a temp. registration in Chennai and bring the car here to Bangalore for complete Registration?

He wants to do the registration in Bangalore.

MODS: Not sure, i have posted in right section. If not, please move to appropriate section.

I don't think so. Temporary registrations in TN are normally allowed only for non-metro residences within the same state.

Guys - Seems this is possible. Spoke with RTO and he confirmed this. I will post all the details after going thru the process.

It might help other ppl who are looking to do the same...

This is interesting. Though I haven't come across any such incidence but seems doable. Do post the details after the completion

Hrag has a point. I have never heard of anyone doing this across a state. Your dealer in chennai should be able to guide you better.
