Here in Delhi I was offered NHC CVT for 7.8 OTR (discount amounting to 65k). The car is June '08 manufactured so I pulled out of the deal otherwise would have gone for it. The dealer has 3 of them (all white). They (Ring Road Honda) have quite a lot of unsold NHCs with them! I was told discounts upto 1lac on Vtec+ model

7.8 Lacs for a June 2008 CVT!

Well, IMO 7.4-7.5 will be a reasonable price.

In Ahmedabad, 2008 GXi was quoted around 7.3 to 7.5 by dealer 2 months back.

I am bargaining for 7.0! (with other options)

Lets see what happens.

Does a price of 7L for Gxi sounds good ? (this includes insurance and temp registration).Registration is to be done separately.

@joe: is that in Bangalore? If so - yes - that's a very good price!
On second thoughts - Is Road Tax not included? - dude that would cost another 1L more!

yes it is in bangalore and road tax not included. The reason is I am planning to take it for use in Kerala.
PS: it seems there is no entry tax if the vehicle is for self use. I got this info from Walayar Sales tax office and if this is indeed true, should be a good deal, cos road tax in kerala for GXi is around 46k.

Dream price to have NHC!!

Just compare with Poor Aveos / Fiestas / SX4s.

All way above 7 lacs, and NHC definitely a better option.

Go for it man.

I have "almost" finalized the deal for City ZX GXI.The deal is 7 L which includes insurance, temp registration, reverse parking sensor and extended warranty.
The car is 2008 June model.

My question is what are the likely issues in owning a car of this old (assumign that it has been lying in the yard for the past 3 months) ? Is there anything that should be taken care of in addition to the PDI checklist that we have ?

On a second note, what might be the likely reasons that these cars are still unsold ? When I went to the yard I could see around 15 ZX models there and at some corner of my heart, I am bit apprehensive of the reasons for these cars remaining unsold. WIll these be , by any chance, accident repaired cars ? How can I make sure that they are not ? Would appreciate a quick response from the gurus here as I have to "fully" finalise the deal by monday.

I was also looking at NHC CVT and visited the local Delhi dealers stockyard as they had 2-3 numbers with them. The cars were June '08 manufactured. They had still lots of unsold NHCs with them lying there in open sun/rain! In fact what put me off (the last nail) was that the chrome on the bonnet was totally rusted!!! Imagine what all could be rusted in that car! I just didnt feel like considering it anymore.

Be careful is my advice. You can go for a new Linea for that price now!

IMO City ZX is better then Linea.

Both have puny engines, but ZX is luxurious, reliable, Tested & has status. (Also better FE)

But of course check thoroughly of any foul play before buying.

If I were you, I would not go in for it. I'll TD the Fiesta or the Linea P instead.

Show the car to a good mechanic, Also take the chassis no and inquire to the service station (at a separate time). These are probably the only way to make sure that the car is a brand new.

If you decide to go for, opt for atleast 4 years of warranty. If the agrees than probably you are safe & extremely lucky to have NHC at this price!

Best of luck.
