I say, find a mechanically sound car, which does not require any repairs for the next 2 yrs, and get it painted at KitUp or some such shop in... Metallic Dark Blue that the Santro comes in!

IMHO the elantra looks best in black cos it has lotsa rub strips, so in black all those merge with the car, if you buy any other colour, then you may want to paint the rub strips body colour, however some may argue that doing so defeats the point of the rub strips!

Note from the Team-BHP Support Staff : Using Team-BHP to promote vested and commercial interests is STRICTLY prohibited. Do refrain from marketing your goods / services all over the board.

the elantra spares are readily available. but yes there have been cases of the ABS pressure actuautor unit failing post 1lakh kms. that thing costs whooping 65k rs from dealer. it can be sourced from outside for like 30-40k i presume . still its only fair that all elantra owners and those looking for second hand elantra should know of this. it depends on luck. if you have extended warranty then you are safe!.

Actually that changed.

From about late 2005 onwards the ones on the body came body coloured . The bumpers lost their strips all together.

the problem with dealer guys is that they charge for anything and everything if it involves technicians spending time to check the car and stuff!

Sameel its okay! Wrong choice of words perhaps.

You have given a retraction .. that should clear things!

About the Hyundai guys charging - I think it largely depends on your relationship with the dealer. I have never been charged. And even if they did I don't think it'll be more than what they charge for what they call "general checkup" - which is fair I suppose!

Hi KB100. Just saw an advertisement in the classified section regarding an elantra. The colour of your choice is not available but overall seems like a good car. Check it out.
